"Misty Blue" is a g written by Bob Montgomery in 1966 which has become a hit in the pop, C&W and soul fields through various versions, the most successful being the 1976 pop/soul hit by Dorothy Moore. Eddy Arnold, Joe Simon, Mary J. Blige, Etta James, Cyndi Lauper, Engelbert Humperdinck and Monica have their own version too. My favorite of all is that of British icon Engelbert Humperdinck.
My Ideal Person
"Misty Blue"
I spent such a long, long time Looks like I'd get you off my mind Oh, but I can't Just the thought of you Turns my whole world of misty blue
Just the mention of your name Turns the flicker to a flame I think of things we used to do Then my whole world turns misty blue
I should forget you Heaven knows I tried But when I say I'm glad we're through My heart knows that I lie.
I spent such a long, long time Looks like I'd get you off my mind But I can't Just the thought of you Turns my world of misty blue.
Just the very thoughts of you Turns my world of misty blue Misty blue.
