Love works when it enlarges both persons who are trying
to respond to each other. Love is not really love when it
drains one person completely to nourished the other.
Real love makes room for both love and beloved to grow. They
remain seperate, in possesion of their own identities,
mindfull
of their own needs and aware of the facts that they can never
merge into one consciousness.
Love works precisely because people do remain seperate.,
because their own sense of worth enables them to be distinct
and to share at the same time.
Lovers validate each other throughthe exchanges that
they freelygive fron their own personal treasures. Maintaining
their seperateness, they always have something fresh
to give to each other and can find something fresh in themselves.
