I took this shot during one of our video chats. She's no doubt a charmer, a fabulous lady, a damsel worth loving for. The last time we talked on the phone was when she slept over to her friend in Cebu before taking a ferry to Southern Leyte. That was December 26, 2013 at around 8:30 PM Manila time. From the last 12 days, I can't count anymore how many times I gave her a ring with the following voice announcement:
"The line is busy, please call again."
"The subscriber cannot be reached."
"The number you are calling is not available."
"Sorry, the subscriber you dialed is power off."
Those engaged in serious LDR and those who are extremely in love, you know how I feel at this very minute. I really miss her so much.   I just wish Issa and her family are safe and in the best of health.
Below are some of the more than 500 text messages she sent me:
"Sleep ka na ha? Mwuahugs. I love u, asawa ko."
"I love u my loving, caring, generous, cute, pogi husband Ace. Mwuahugs. Have a nice sleep and sweet dreams,"
"Ok lang sa akin kung makipag-inuman ka. Merry Christmas to all. I love u. Mwuahugs."
"Alright hon, di ako magpagabi pag uwi. Mwuahugs. I love u. Ingat pag-drive."
"Sarap naman kinakain mo. U r always welcome asawa ko. I love u my Ace. Take care all the time honey. Mwuahugs."
"Cutiepie, mwuahugs. I love you, hon. U may kol me nw b4 i sleep."
God knows how much I care and how I adore you, sweetheart. Please mag-ingat ka palagi, mahal ko.

White Christmas in the dark alley

An ice storm slammed into Ontario and across the eastern provinces two days ago. The rain changed over to freezing rain and ice began to accumulate which led to numerous traffic accidents, flight delays/cancellations and has left hundreds of thousands without power. My two aunts as well as my grandparents are among those who are in the dark. Only my mom and I never experience the power outage. Toronto has several warming centres. Water is complete as it’s up to full service. It is bringing in 100 trucks from Manitoba, Windsor, Mississauga, Ottawa and Michigan. They`re going to stay until every light is back on in the city with less than 200,000 people with no electricity yet. |

On the 4th of January, my darling and I will be celebrating our 10th monthsary. I was able to talk to her brother, sister-in-law and two nephews last Sunday when they visited Issa. I'm going to phone them again five hours from now to greet them a very merry Christmas. My girl is on her way to Bulacan (a three-hour trip) to be with her brother and his family. I can say that this will be my happiest Christmas ever. Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon sa lahat.

My initial door-to-door box to Metro Manila

On November 29, I typed and printed Issa`s name and address six times then put stuff in the box that I will send to her by December 12. Inside were branded clothes, two consoles with games and accessories, shoes, bags, chocolates, assorted candies, my favorite teddy bear holding a heart with `I love you` on it, decorations, and more. She is my first long-distance gf so basically this is also my first door-to-door box which items I personally bought and arranged. I was kinda busy for the past two months that only now I scheduled for its pick up. Arrival date is from five to six weeks. Here is my promise, baby.

My girlfriend got sick right after we celebrated our ninth monthsary. I told her to see the physician for a quick general check-up but she refused. Like one of my aunts, she is afraid to visit any health care practioner even if it`s for her own good. I still try to convince her yet she does not want to. Please, hon...look after yourself, alright? I miss you so dearly.

The people of Leyte are divided into two main groups. In the west and south are the Cebuanos, while in the north and east is the Waray-Waray (Leyte dialect). It is subdivided into 41 municipalities and three cities. The province of Leyte has significance not only to its locals but to the entire nation as well. It is rich in history, culture, natural resources, and scenic spots some of which are McArthur’s Landing Memorial marking the spot of his promised return, the old Spanish houses in Baybay, and the Filipino Soldier Monument. San Juanico Bridge - built during the Marcos regime (2 kilometer-long with 43 spans and 41 meters above the sea at its highest point), Palo Cathedral, Mahagnao Volcano National Park, Cuatros Islas - off Inopacan with sandy beaches, Tongonan Hot Spring and St. Therese Diocesan Shrine in Calubian are also the pride of the said jurisdiction.
The place where my girl was born is of vital interest to the country. October 17, 1944 to July 1, 1945 served as important dates in Philippine history as American forces fought their way to topple the mean Japanese invaders. Imelda Marcos, Tessie Tomas, Kim Chiu, Nicanor Yniguez, Pedro L. Yap, and Col. Ruperto Kangleon are some of the famous personalities of the province.
Issa is scheduled to take a one-week vacation from work to visit her mom, siblings and other relatives in Leyte. I am happy that finally she can take a break and can relax with her family. I love you, baby...have fun and talk to you soon.

This Netherlands dwarf rabbit was wandering in the city of Scarborough when my mom spotted him. It was midnight already so she took the bunny home, fed him and gave him comfortable bed suited for a pet like him. I asked Issa what should be his name. Sabi ko dapat combination ng name namin kaso she told me para iyon sa future /s namin.  He remained nameless.

I dwell in the second largest country in the world which is Canada while my baby resides in the far east called the Philippines. But no matter how many thousands of miles we are apart and how busy we are, she and I always find the time to communicate via E-mail, phone call, text, chat, offline messages and through this site where we met. It's true, love comes from unexpected place and time. |

Today, my beloved Issa and I are celebrating our seventh monthsary. Our relationship grows stronger everyday as no one and nothing can stop us from what we feel for each other. Time flies. Parang kahapon lamang noong sinusuyo ko pa siya. Ngayon naka-pitong buwan na kami sa aming wagas na pagmamahalan.
