The Essence of Life

What is the meaning of life? Or would it be more appropriate to ask, how do you make life meaningful?

Is our pursuit of finding meaning to life a struggle towards futility? Or is our paradigm lost in translation?

What makes life worth living? Is it family? Friends? Wealth? Health?

In this so-called modern age of technology defined by insatiable thirst for material possessions and social recognition, have we taken time to embrace silence and ponder on what is meaningful to us?

Are we living for the illusion or reality of life?

In my own way, life is the state of being at peace with who you are and living to your fullest potential...

What defines Happiness?

Happiness is a matter of choice and perception. Some people define happiness through material possessions, others through emotional satisfaction.
For all its worth, whatever people perceives to be the source of his/her happiness as long as its not physically hurtful to others (or even worse, hurtful to his/her self) then be it.
Why physical? What is the essence of happiness to a lifeless body? Hurtful words can be fleeting but when life is lost, what could be worse? There is no clear evidence of an afterlife, it may just be a comforting thought. Faith? That is still more of psychological conditioning.
People always struggle to find happiness. Perhaps that is what defines happiness. A struggle to be happy or find comfort that everything will be fine. Is it optimism or contentment?
Happiness may as well begins with "h" for Hope, and ends with "s" for Struggle. A never ending cycle of hoping and struggling to be happy.

Flawed Expectations and Relationship Frustrations

Being in a relationship can be frustrating when your expectations are not met by the other person. Setting up expectations are not necessarily bad as long as it would lead to the other person's growth and maturity.
Being yourself in a relationship is such an overated statement. What if your "self" is not that appealing? Do you not try at the very least to improve yourself?
Man has been differentiated from other animals because of his ability to adapt to changes and capacity to learn.
If you feel that your behavior would be hurtful to another, would you not try to be empathetic?
Strong relationships are often bounded by complimenting values and behaviors.

Is Society Defined by Sexual Liberation or Restraint?

When did it happened that being chasteful becomes a red letter for shame? In this day of modern progress and sexual liberation, a person is teased for not losing the "it" thing before reaching the third decade of one's existence. Pardon moi, "it" refers to one's actual sexual naivete.
To make matters worse, being unattached is defined with such indignation and contempt. When did coital experience becomes a benchmark for social acceptance?
For those whose lives were based on fame and infamy, sexual exploits are convention and norm. Ironically, these are exploited for personal gain that are treated with both disdain and interest by the public.
Censorship has been causing an uproar due to the restraints it imposes on intellectual/socio-emotional growth and maturity. I have always advocated sexual liberation and still do. I just find it disturbing that views on chastity and idealism are now distorted to connote socio-sexual ineptness.
