Lost at Sea

You docked your ship at the foot of my ocean
But never laid down your anchor
You set your foot at the reef of my water
But never walked through my shore

And now as I watch your shadow sail away
I wonder if you were ever here for me
Did you make it through our journey?
Or does your boat stray lost at sea?

I read your letters this morning
And blew a prayer to the wind
Did I give my heart to my sailor?
Or did the tide take your place in my harbor?
And if ever it did, will God give me a chance
And you rescue my soul drowning?

I’m trying so hard to trace my footprints in this sand
Desperately seeking my way home
I feel a raging battle in my chest
A war between the ocean and my heart’s distress

I glance at your letter once more
And feel your heart beating
I know you live...
Your words undying

Someday the wind will find calm waters
And the spirit will fill my soul
God’s love to me speaking
Boundless love can be broken in between
And real love can only mean
Absolute forgiveness from within

‘till then I will wait for your coming….
