High Tech astrology.

I was watching a talk show earlier today and they talked about the latest gadget , website and phone applications used to meet people and have a virtual relationship. There was also a movie about a guy who fell in love with Siri (now there's another competition) It made the talks show laugh and I was laughing about it too. I said to myself, oh what has the world gone to. There are applications that can tell if you are compatible.

One of the gadget is a bracelet that one can wear and will tell you if there is someone nearby wearing the same bracelet that you can meet, example in a bar. Kinda like the cabbage walkers, they walk cabbages to meet same people, usually these are teens who has some depression. There is a phone application that can tell one's mood and if it's the right time or the right person to speak to or the right time to make a move. Wait there's more, there is also a website that can detect yours and your partner's DNA for future diseases. You sign in, they will send you and your partner a test tube, you spit out in the tube, send it back and your spit will be tested for DNA for diseases. There are also sites where you can have a virtual girlfriend/boyfriend tailored to your needs. I don't mean scammers.

My reaction? Pardon me but I think it's ridiculous. These companies are using lonely people to make big profits. Love or relationship is becoming more like a commodity. We all wanted guarantee and assurance. What happened to getting to know each other and loving them for what they are? Will you rely on an application to tell you who to speak to or who to love? I wonder what the next generation will be? I hate to think. Yes computer technology has given us so much but do we have to rely on them too for our relationship? Maybe. Like for people who has some psychosocial problems such as those with phobias such as phobias from intimacy, phobias from rejection, Maybe good for those who have violent tendencies so they will just lash out at their gadgets or computers.

Robots are made by people but seems like people will soon turn into robots following computers. These technologies are like astrology gone high tech. some people actually believe and use them. Come to think of it.

Bizzy, so true. Let's not depend on technology, let's just use it to make life easier. don't let it control us. We are humans with a heart and brain to help us decide what emotions we should have. It's more fun if we make the choice.

I really dread the day when everything will be computerized/robotized...I guess, by that time, either I am fully demented (and cannot tell the difference) or already 6 ft. below the ground.

Yes and too much reliance on them I think makes one less appreciative of the real life , everything becomes virtual to those who are addicted.

Sad Tajane but looks like it's the way the next generation is leading to.

We probably all are six feet under but I just feel sorry for the next generations if everything is virtual but then who knows they may think that the older generations were missing out. The next generations will not miss what they did not have like the old days "harana" , courtship at iba pa.
