Matryoshka Doll

Have you ever seen a matryoshka doll or Russian nesting doll? I happened to receive one from a friend and as I looked at them it reminded me of our own personalities, we are like these dolls. For those who do not know , a set of matryoshkas consist of a wooden figure which separates, top from bottom, to reveal a smaller figure of the same sort inside, which has, in turn, another figure inside of it, and so on. If you do not explore them you will not see what's inside, we can only assume based on what we read or heard that what's inside is same as what we see outside. Each layer of doll represents different level of our self that others know of us.

Same thing with people, if we do not interact, communicate, listen or understand them then we will not know them. their personalities, values, beliefs, culture and everything. We have an outer self that people can see, we also have an inner self that we share with acquaintances, a much inner self that our close friends or family know about. Another much inner or deeper layer that we only share with our partner, spouse or lover. Then we have the core self that maybe only ourself knows of and that we rather we keep to ourselves.

Sometimes as we get to know the person and reveal more of themselves to us we get an inclination as to what they really are inside. We can see personality after few interactions based on the way we talk, the way we treat others. Sometimes we don't have to open the inner layers of a person if what we see on the second layer is something we don't like. Much like Matryoshka dolls, after opening the first layer we know more or less what's inside. There maybe few exemptions, rather rare but can also be the other way around one may look good on the outside but rotten inside. That again we will learn of as we interact with them.

Oh well that's how we are made of, different from one another, we are all unique. There's a saying don't judge a book by it's cover, true, with people we can't judge people by their looks but we can by interacting with them. The way we interact, the way we treat others is the way we show our inner self. Hence the saying action speaks louder.
