In The Bible: Vegetarian Food Prove Superior Than Any Other Food In the Bible,vegetarian food prove superior than other food. In Daniel 1: 7-21 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.Now God had caused the official to show favor and compassion to Daniel, 10 but the official told Daniel, "I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you." Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah,"Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink.Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see." So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead. To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. At the end of the time set by the king to bring them into his service, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar.The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king's service.In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom.And Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus. --------------------------------------------------------------- Vegetables and fruits are foods meant to be eaten by humans and animals too.Genesis 1:29-30 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move on the ground–everything that has the breath of life in it–I give every green plant for food." And it was so. ------------------------------------------------------------------ After the great flood,God permitted humans (Noah and his sons) to eat animal meat. Genesis 9:1-7 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything. "But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too,I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being. "Whoever sheds human blood, by human beings shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made humankind. As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it." God knows that in order for humans to survive on that devastating great flood (which wipe out trees and plants),humans were allowed to eat meat from lambs,fishes,etc.This commandment to Noah and his sons by God were not meant forever.It is a special case of "emergency"...of "survival".People who eat meat have to understand this special case.People should not rationalize that because it was written in Genesis 9:1-7,they could eat meat forever.The time...the devastating event when this commandment were made should be considered my brothers and sisters.We should not forget that vegetables and fruits are for us humans and animals to eat.God bless!
