The Beautiful Mind.....

It's not just mental pictures and movies we see in our mind's eye--or with our actual eyes. There's an inner dialog going on constantly about our thoughts, opinions and ideas about those images we see. We constantly talk to ourselves about the physical and emotional feelings we get, too.

So if things are not going your way in one or more areas of life, to point fingers anywhere but to yourself is to be guaranteed to keep getting more of the same.

That's a lock.

The way you see life now is the same way you've looked at it for years. Because that self talk that's been in your head for years has been shaping your view of your world all that time. So if you want some circumstances or some emotional patterns to change, the only way it will happen is to examine your beliefs and attitudes surrounding the underlying issues, and you must change your self-talk. Otherwise...

Where you are failing, take responsibility. Change your inner affirmations (your beliefs) Then and only then can you take control.

So, when are you going to talk seriously to yourself?

Wise choice in life is a must. For so long been making the wrong decision. And the only one to blame is me. Change is a the biggest factor and hurdles in my life. It's true what you said something in "the way you see life now is the smae way you've looked at it for years.

hi Dee...

i think i have been having talks with myself for quite a while now.... but i would much rather call it contemplative moments..

like i always say and with what i have learned from a conversation with a good friend a while back...people evolve, transform, or to use a more beautiful word....metamorphose... as they add days and experiences to their lives.

with how i was when i was younger, i was too idealistic and always conforming to norms, that me looking back now at those many years, i seemed rigid and non-reactive with life's challenges.

having to miss many opportunities with that kind of attitude, i knew i needed to change my outlook in life and let go of the "stiffness" so to speak. I still hold dear and close to my heart my faith, my family and my friends...but i know in some areas i needed CHANGE, big time..

i still suffer setbacks, heartaches, missed ooportunities...but it is my newfound attitude that helps me get by.... that life is what i make of it. Not sweating the small stuff is one great thing i learned too.

Life is still good...because of and in spite of.

Hello there Tess!...You can't be wrong in the belief that yes, we are responsible for our actions and for the decisions that we make. It is in our subconscious mind that there are some things that we truly want regardless of how circumstances present themselves to us. This, I likened to taking exams or tests in school. Have you noticed that if we don't review our mistakes, given the same set of tests again, we tend to have the same mistakes/errors? It is because we haven't spoken to ourselves that we need to change strategies or review the things that went wrong...I hope we will pass our daily tests like the colorful rainbow shown on this blog..Have a great weekend Tess!

Marie, I know that we don't really have to literally speak or talk to ourselves. But during our deep reflections in life, we do mumble and sometimes give our face a light "slap" when we know that we just made an erroneous decision. It should not be a form of self punishment, but a reminder to oneself that NO, we shouldn;t be doing the same mistake over and over again.

Versatility and flexibility comes with time and age. Some people can be very insistent and persistent. Our minds are sometimes "close", and it only opens when the experiences become unpleasant and painful. The beauty of our mind is that its stubborness is self-limiting. After several mistakes, it definitely finds another ways and means to deal with life.

At times, we get so fixated with what we think is ideal, unmindful of the other factors which deter or hinder the realization of such ideals. We often miss the opportunities to experience how it is to just go with the flow, live life simply and humbly, and therefore happily. We complicate ourselves unnecessarily.

Two things I'd like to quote: 1.) "The only thing constant in this world is change, and 2.) The only true handicap is a bad attitude. " At my age right now, even with BIG problems, I have learned NOT to take very seriously. They will make my short life even shorter..You know almost all of my hurdles in life, and here I am...A TOUGH COOKIE!

***********************************************************************************

Thank you Bebs. Indeed, there are so many things that we cannnot UNDO in our lives, but, we can convert/transform them into something meaningful by sharing the lessons that we learned to others. Lessons are not only learned in the classroom, it can be shared here, and right now."THINGS DO HAPPEN FOR A REASON", at times, the answers may not be readily available to us, but as we grow with time, it's nice to look back and say to ourselves, "I've been there done that, and it made me a better person that I am today. And its all about attitude."
******************************************************************************************************************
"THE ONLY TRUE HANDICAP IS A BAD ATTITUDE.

...Others are blind and yet, they see with their hearts, while others have a 20/20 vision, but FAILS to SEE THE BEAUTY OF THE WORLD. Others are deaf, but can read our lips, but those who can hear, refuse to listen. Others almost have NOTHING, and yet, they make the most of what they have and still grateful, while others may have almost EVERYTHING, and yet, in them, dwells a very unhappy soul....Having a bad attitude is indeed, a handicap in the deepest sense of the word.

galdolly<<< ""Wise choice in life is a must. For so long been making the wrong decision. And the only one to blame is me. Change is a the biggest factor and hurdles in my life."

There is no wrong or right decisions, it is our life, it is what we feel, as it is what is (as we thought)the right thing. As long as we know how to face life challenges and know to face the consequences of our choices without blaming the other people... Sad indeed, painful yes, but these are our decisions. I have fallen a lot of times, and needed to face the consequences for such decisions, odd decisions. It's been years now that I just let myself go with the flow, (floating?)standingyet not moving. "

*********************************************************************************************************

Dolly, sis, the beauty of your mind is that it sees and differentiates the good and the adverse outcomes of your decisions. And you are right, there is no right or wrong decision UNTIL THE OUTCOME. Henceforth, the beautiful mind, again, rationalizes and confers with the beautiful heart. Their co-existence is a MUST.

Thank you for appreciating me. I miss you too!

Dee, just a while ago, i needed to accept one reality in my life.. Some things arent really meant to happen, no matter how much you want for it to happen. One can only do so much, and if it doesnt go the way she/he wants it too, then one needs to let go.. Painful at first, but it will be more painful to hold on to something that isnt meant to be.
The tears will help wash away the hurts.... i know the world shouldnt stop spinning.. and that im still hopeful about life.

Marie, first of all, my apology for not calling you last night. I fell asleep, but woke up very early this morning.

I understand your situation my dear. We are in the same "stand" regarding this realities in life. There are just too many things out of our control, and those are our wants, desires, dreams, and wishes. WHAT CAN WE DO? I am having a hard time crying now, which really helps a lot when we are not feeling very well. I am probably immune to this, but not to the point of me not feeling the PAIN..It's just the tears.

I, myself am going through quite a lot in this life, but yes, it doesn't mean that the world will stop turning and it's the end of the road for us, just because....WE HAVE A LOT OF THINGS TO BE GRATEFUL, INDEED. Just hang in there, my sweet friend...Hang in there!
