People of Color....the stigma

I know this topic is quite sensitive, but it is happening all over the world and we cannot just ignore it. I lived in South Bronx, New York for more than 12 years, and most of the inhabitants of that borough are people of color ( Black African-Americans, Black Latinos, Asian-Americans etc. ). Why did I include Asians? YES! because brown colored Asians such as Filipinos, Indians, Pakistanis, Sri-Lankans, Cambodians, Indonesians, and others are considered Black people, at least in America, because of the color of the skin, being NOT WHITE.

And what hurts most is that Black people are being labeled as aggressive, trouble makers, lazy, very sensitive, uneducated, looters, and whatever negative adjectives they can describe us and we are the center of racism and hatred. Black people are minorities and for that reason, the American government is being accused of 'White Supremacy"...

Personally speaking, I have nothing against Black people, but I do not want to be dragged into their kind, because I am Asian, and I have my own identity from my ethnicity and as an individual. I am against racial-profiling and I truly abhor the idea of Asian Hate. All Lives Matter! If only we all learn to respect, and love one another, the world will be a better place to live....

I am a proud Asian-American. And I will always be a true Filipina by heart. I may have embraced the lifestyle of a Westerner having lived here for 30 years, but I will never forget the value of my roots.

am appalled at how the whites treat asians these days..not only the asians but the blacks who are also suffering the same discrimination, from them..they treat their fellowmen as not equal..america has had this discrimination eons ago and has not moved on from the attitude, no matter their rules on equality..and there have been black people who have raised themselves to the levels of whites, more honorable and more dignified that we can say..take OBAMA as an example..we have also proven ourselves worth more than their color and race..but the feeling of superiority has been ingrained so much in them and continuously look on other races as lower quality than they are and must be submissive to their supreme color or race...sad indeed!

I agree with you, Jane...When I traveled in Nice, France, I also noticed that they are very racist. When people of color shopped, they treat us differently. The welcome is warmer for people with lighter skin...That is very sad...

Personally, I do not allow these things bother me. Just don't they dare lay a hand on me. Then I would respond accordingly. Otherwise, I just ignore them and walk away.

Men react differently..And you are right. Walking away is the best thing to do than to engage in further argument or discord...Thanks for the visit again. Your input means a lot for us who blogs here regularly.

The abuse of Asian people is more or less global, Sinophobia combined with undiscriminating ignorance. For me it is a matter of great shame. I teach Asian people, mingle with them, count some amongst my few best friends, have married one or two and often travel throughout Asia. When I reject some of the racist criticisms I am sure to be labelled a Commie sympathiser and abused. My country used to be better!

Ummm White is a color too.... Right? I mean there's a White crayon in a box of Crayolas Diba? Lol!! I'm just saying! I believe that "ALL" people should be given respect and dignity. All means All. Every living human being. Asians, caucasions, african americans, Martians, ect. Lose the hate and make humanity great again.

Indeed, the racism is a global problem. Everywhere we go, there is always someone who will bring up racist remarks. I am often called "Chinese", and quite frankly, I do not like it...It brings so much negativities on my personality.

That is very ideal! We can only wish there is no such thing as racism...The world will be a better place to live, indeed. Thanks for visiting my blogs...
