Madam Miriam Mocking PNP Pachiderms

This is an unusual situation when the term "mocking" would carry a positive meaning and would look beneficial for all the human beings based here in our country the philippines.

If Madame Miriam Santiago used an approach of sarcasm as a tool to awaken the fungal faced and pachidermed PNP generals who brought along millions of people's pesos to an interpol conference in Moscow, we pinoys could not agree more. In fact they should be punished, relieved of their posts and withdraw all the benefits that were accorded to them by the Filipino people.

The problem is, were these fungal face truly affected by the mockeries considering that the senate hearing was shown live in public via TV and radio. I had the impression actually that this practice of rewarding retiring PNP officials using people's money had been going on since who knows when. Perhaps using people's money among the higher echelons of PNP had been part of their traditions since day one and regardless if their subordinates among the lower ranks sacrifice their own money to fill their own needs for basic police necessities like office supplies, computers, gasolines for their mobile patrols, bullets, guns and so forth and so on. So what else is new?

In any cases, please allow me to commend Madame Miriam for her fearless attitude mocking those PNP pachiderms and defending us Pinoys against greed being displayed and exerting effort as well to recover people's money from the pit of those PNP crocodiles.

That is quite an interesting reminiscing. In fact I have a story too about meeting her personally and considering that I am a total stranger to her. About two or three years ago, I was about to cross her path while she was shopping at a surplus outlet at Megamall. I remember she was escorted by two buffy bodyguards. When she was getting closer as I was walking, instict told me to greet her as a sign of respect for a high and respectable official of our land. She stopped, looked at me, smiled and greeted the same too.

These are just a few of my unforgettable past moments that I would still be cherishing and reminiscing up to this moment. It is indeed a privilege to be paid attention by one of the more maverick and astute government official of the land.

being born in the philippines,i heard so many stories about the good and/or bad officials,i can tell that you admired her and her work, but to be honest there's always two sides of a coin...do you strongly believed that she could make a difference? and piggy back the whole nation to a greener pasture? what would it take for the masses to change the mentality of their elected officials....

It's a culture of corruption actually. This phrase was created by Madame Miriam again and correct me please if I am wrong. Well sarcasm and mockery from the senators like Mar Roxas, Migs Zubiri and of course Lola Miriam in front of the Pinoy viewers via TV coverage or thru listeing via radio would be enough for these erring officials. Besides, they have their family, their wife, their kids and their relatives who will carry the load of stigma. Just imagine the trauma it would cause them for the rest of their life. Their reputation in their community could unfortunately be affected but I thought that this would serve them right. I would not like to be noticed by our neighbors and my schoolmates as part of a family of thieves. This could be hurting but its about time and long overdue to control our behavior and get back to disciplining ourselves and for crying out loud.
