Work Sucks.. It is a miracle here in the car industry to find a good job,let alone any employment in Australia. I found a cool job here, good pay and easy work..well mostly. But this year..lol toooo much to cope with. We cycle in the car industry new models each 4 years or so and mine was due 2006,with Toyota's new CAMRY series which we supply to the Middle East amongst others. Left hand drive and right hand drive models. Many plastic component suppliers like mine have closed due to cheaper suppliers overseas like China. Mine luckier than most as we have a good rapport with our customer TOYOTA. To keep that friendship I have to ensure in my section that supplies are next to perfect for if I muck up,Toyota stopping the line(conveyer with cars being built on it) costs them $10,000/minute in lost production! ARAY!!! I have about 7 trained jobs at my section ASSEMBLY.. Ultrasonics,Cup Holders,Armrests,Gear Covers,Dashboard components x3 parts. I desperately wanted to travel o/s but my darling boss thought otherwise. I used my holidays in Dec 2005,so have to wait a year to accumulate 4 weeks, but up to Supervisor if you can take them and when? This year unlike other years, trained staff like me don't have the luxury of going away unles the company closes for holidays, like Dec. We have to launch the new car for Toyota so I am in a real grief here. Torn between being with you there and trying to keep my job and work when I can get it(on 6 days now). We have casual employees but we have lost about 20/month through quitting or being sacked! Forgive me all. I am trying to sneak out in October. Seriously. |

" But when you are a good worker and they wont let you off for Tatay or Nanay's day there or worse a funeral etc,it really hurts. They have casual's but 'newbies' and are worried they can't do the job so always try to grab me and stress if I have even a few days off." I know how that feels bro. sometimes, being too good at your job is a handicap. "Guess it is like being on Duty in Persian Gulf then not being allowed home for 6 months more due to threats like at Yemen that time." but at least over there, we can blow things up to relieve stress!
