Lights On Caution: This is a narrative that is informative. i've encountered this very interesting information about Sweden. Just for basic facts, Sweden occupies the greater mass of the Scandanavia Peninsula and adjacent the countries of Norway, Denmark and Finland. A country where the sun sets minimally and cold weather is typical of it. The houses eternally keep their lights open on a window sill or near their windows, during night time, so you could see a town or county alive during the stillnes of the night. This is a tradition that has identified the country for centuries. You may view this as wasteful consumption but on the part of Sweden which depends majorly on hydro resources, this practice is most sincerely adequate for their purposes, because.. 1. The tradition gives the country a pretty image with its well-lit effect on streets, facade of building structures that conveys a well lived place and projecting a friendly countenance of its neighborhood and nation. 2. Being a communal country, leaving lights on their homes gives comfort and serenity to its dwellers, where the ambiance of peace and security pervade the atmosphere. This wards off intruders even if there is no one inside the house. 3. The country is typically more on the dark side because the sun shines too little, it gives the home a diffused light throughout the darkness season creating this sunlight illusion. 4. Swedish have always this penchant for beauty and cleanliness so a visual beauty and clean aura of the house is well maintained throughout. In the photos added, you would see how bright and beautiful the chalets in the country can get. This piece of information added thoughts to my already prolific mind, that i would like to ask, how amenable are you to keep your house always lit, during dark times, assuming the of energy is minimal of even if not? Would you prefer a dark room to sleep in? What thoughts do you usually have when caught or staying in a dark room? |

I always sleep at night with a lamp lit in my room. Can't do without it because somehow i have this tendency to have a blurred image when no lights are on. During the dark, i tend to think more, though sometimes it can get scary because i tend to remember horror stories especially on vampires, werewolves and ghosts. lol

we are opposite then. I used to do that before...no light when sleeping but when I got older, habits or customs changed. I sleep with a side table lamp on from the moment I lie down. But with the room light on, which is brightly lit, I can't go to sleep.
