So Frustrating


As early as November of last year, I made my online booking with MyTrip, an_ agency stationed at Toronto and an official sales agent of Philippine Airlines [PAL], so I can go home and be with my family in Manila on Easter Sunday.

I paid_ for itusing my granddaughter's credit card. So they sent me what they call an Order Confirmation of Booking for said itinerary. On January and February 2021, MyTrip and PAL kept sending me notices on changes of flight details, the last one_was_made last month with an itinerary having misconnecting flights. I leave Edmonton for Vancouver days later than my connecting flight from Vancouver Manila. Horrible!

So I sent MyTrip an email regarding this matter. They replied saying it was indeed a misconnection and therefore invalid. So they rectified the information and proposed a new schedule which reverted back the original itinerary I had_ paid_ for, when I booked the flight. But in order for MyTrip correct this and advise PAL, I was asked pay_ an adjustment package of C$45.00. I had this question in my mind, why should I pay_ for something that I have had no hand in contributing the error. Because I felt I was at their mercy (wanting go home soon) I closed my eyes and paid_ what was being asked as additional payment_. That was last Friday of the past wee Same day, My Trip sent me a confirmation or what they call my travel_ document which I will use for my check-in at the airports.

Come Monday morning this week, I received an email saying that the airlines have cancelled enitrely my itinerary/eticket. I called up ask MyTrip, if they can rebook for another itinerary which is the nearest available flight of PAL. MyTrip told , rebooking is not possible on any given day and time because their system do not have the information for future flights of_ PAL and that if I used_ a credit card, refunds may not be made possible. Also, that I need pay_ another adjustment package enable them do the rebooking, if ever there is a flight that could be made available come next. This fueled my anger.

How can I not be entitled a rebooking or refund when they keep rescheduling my flight schedule in so many spins with the ultimate action of them cancelling it all together, after receiving the required adjustment package? Baloney stuff for me!

Why would they extract an additional payment_ of C$45 to make adjustments or rectify a schedule they made and erred for? I had nothing to do with it. I just had faith in them in that they will accept my payment_ and let me fly, So I ask is there some kind of plot of fleecing passengers of their money_ with their mode of operations? I have read that several passengers have been following up on their refunds which they had filed many moons back and have not received as yet? What is their story in this?

They have just shattered my means of going home soon, with my last funds_ I borrowed, paid_ and used, to me that eticket. I can't shell out another to buy_ another flight from another airline. Further, my plans to be with family come Easter Sunday and to enable me to attend mass in person plus receive the Holy Eucharist are now in vain.

As a caution to all these events I underwent, this should be a warning to everyone traveling..

NEVER BOOK USING MYTRIP OR TRAVEL AGENCY THESE DAYS AND BEFORE YOU CHOOSE AN AIRLINE, MAKE SURE THE AIRLINE IS OPERATING THE ROUTE. DO NOT BE CONNED OR DECEIVED LIKE I WAS.

(I apologize for the long read, I did it so you can understand my wrath regarding the matter).

I feel your frustration and anger ( I would) Jane...And you know what? things like that cannot happen here in the USA...We report it to BBB ( Better Business Bureau), and the agency should be the one to make arrangements for you WITHOUT extra fees, because YOU did NOT cause all the changes..As a matter of fact, you were inconvenienced !!!

In this pandemic, a lot of cancellations and changes have been made. Most of my relatives in Ontario and British Columbia seldom use PAL for obvious reasons. I suggest using either Korean Air or Air Canada next time.

thumb up there! the Lord has granted me another means and postponement or cancellation is because I got scheduled already for the vaccine, first dose is scheduled for March 18 and the next, i still fon't have the schedule because I am not sure which will be mafe available for me. We have 4 choices here in Canada, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.

as always..the Lord knows what's best for us . Good for you there in Canada, you get to choose from 4 vaccines..just have to make the good choice among the 4 . Stay safe.
