PURPOSE IN LIFE

Living your years past retirement you pause
Ask yourself what more to pursue as life's cause
Different cultures will find its different set of answers
In my country no difference it's saying as you were.

Filipino parents while stronger become family nannies
They'd baby sit grandkids run errands for the families
It's a welcome relief as they find themselves still of use
With busy at work inside house work they choose.

Grandparents drive their to school the least to do
Western families it's more of own activities they're into
Finding themselves traveling concentrating on hobbies
You see them in their trailers getting busy with journeys.

Our purpose in life never stops each day we wake up to
We find a meaning in life which makes us e'er on the go
We keep searching for our direction short-live as it maybe
Sometimes a mission we need to accomplish being an oldie.

The purpose can be a vocation this need you like to satisfy
Could also be the right time to spend for more spirituality
Our religious beliefs well founded keep and guide our way
Unique we may have to think and believe it makes our day.

Many fret the day that life will have no purpose it's impossible
I do not profess because while we breathe life gets tangible
Your faculties keep you alive so nothing will be done as idle
It's only in death that your purpose is no longer said viable.

You have your bucket list? Surely, that becomes your purpose, too. Have you done any yet? I have yet 3 to go...
1. Find that lifelong partner
2. Travel to Switzerland and Amsterdam
3. See my grandchildren get married and have children.

In retirement giving back by teaching, and continuing study, and travel are my driving goals. The travel is on hold, but online teaching and study are undisturbed. When travel is possible I would like to travel by ship to Taiwan, then to Ryukyu, up the length of Japan, again by ship to Kamchatka and Train to Moscow..
I would not contemplate the long trip by horse from Mongolia to Kiev as one Aussie did and wrote of in National Geographic; nor as one intrepid woman did, to cross Australia by Camel, my bottom aches at the very thought!

sure is an interesting goal..something different from what most would do..and to discover beyond what is common, is something you can say a grander feat or accomplishment...good luck and i do hope the pandemic will wane or allow things to be done as normal...happy holidays!
