I met my man quite by accident as he was sort of involved with someone at the time which so was I but nothing greatly serious. We began chatting in March through a mutual friend and found that we had alot in common. Our feelings for one another grew and before long we were chatting everyday and talking on the phone every weekend. After a few months I decided to meet this gorgeous man and so I flew to the States and we met in Anaheim. We had 10 wonderful days together in which time I learnt that I was wholly and solely in love with this guy. He is my soul mate. I actully felt very silly as I joined the chatroom with three other members. Being a novice and not knowing what to do I asked the person with the friendliest nickname what to do. His nick name was smiler67. Anyway we chatted in a private chat that evening for four hours. The next day he had sent me an e-mail. By the following week we were calling telephonically. Exactly two months later, August 4 2000 I collected him from the airport. I was so nervous and excited at the same time. He came all the way from the UK to visit me here in South Africa. Well we had a magical two weeks and only physically confirmed that which we have known since about the second time we spoke. We are "soulmates". We got engaged on August 6 2000. I know what you must be thinking. Those same thoughts plagued both of us. I flew over to the UK in September for a week to meet his family. We have spent a whole year together and it has been a most wonderful, awesome year! This is the update from last September/October 1999. Last week....June 2000....we took a trip to Niagara Falls and had a great time! It's the first time we'd ever gone away by ourselves (without family or friends). He took me to the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls for dinner at 8:30. The sky was so beautiful. We got there in time to see the rainbow still on the falls, the sunset and the lights on the falls. After dinner, we went upstairs to the observation deck and walked around for awhile. And not too long after that we stopped. At that point he asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! That will be a night I never forget as long as I live. We are planning our wedding for next summer 2001. To all of those who are skeptical...it's ok, but I am not anymore. If it hadn't been for a friend suggesting friendfinder, I never would have met Larry, the most wonderful man in my life. I live in a very rural area where there are not a lot of places to meet people your own age and FriendFinder is just the ticket for people in that situation.
