What a classic combination! I´ve always gone to the movie
first with my date, and then had a late dinner. Why? Because
dinner should be a laid back, relaxed thing where you aren´t
trying to stuff yourself to get to the movie in time. The
meal is the place that you get to know each other.

Find somewhere nice but not over your budget - you don´t
want to wince when ordering food. It should be relatively
quiet so you can talk, and you should both know what the dress
code is there so neither one feels uncomfortable when you
walk in the door. If you can, get a booth in a corner - it´s
