Fear not ...my friend... Mar 14, 2006 7:08 pm
Mood: energetic, 287 Views

I was with my buddy last night, and we have a couple round of beers while enjoying the night races.

These three lines register to my attention on our healthy discussions about our mischievous heydays!

" If a man wet his shoes while on a pee " that spells disaster.

" Fear not of old ages for you have served your peers in satisfaction", and by nature, It's payback time.

" Afterall these years, Life is worth living", your kins can attest to that.

First Sunday of the Lenten Season... Mar 5, 2006 5:41 pm
Mood: contemplative, 258 Views

We Catholics Christians have lots of commemorations and festivities regarding our faith starting from Ash Wednesday till Easter Sunday.

In this modern day era, only the oldies of the believers rekindled and practice the faith about the abstinence and rituals. The youth on the other hand are more liberal and free flowing with regards to sacrifices and prayers. Unmindful of the usual traditions, they are now appeased by being spectators but of times heed to the Old believers just to please and not so to offend them.

For me, I'm still a part of the old ways, comes Maundy Thursday. My annual penitence is to visit fourteen churches within the metropolis, as to complete the stations of the "Via Cruses". I've been doing this for about a long time now, since my days in elementary grades together with my Dad and siblings.

One thing I'm sure of is that it always granted my prayers, be of what it is that I've asked for. My thanks to the Almighty God for everything he has provided me, the graces and blessings to note.

I've learned that the sun shines for the good and the bad alike, believers and non- believers, the sinner or saints.

The heritage lives on me and the family circle!

Hover on the lane of the skyway! Feb 26, 2006 6:23 pm

Turn me loose from your hand...

Let me fly to distant land...

Over greenfields, trees and mountain...

Flowers and forest fountain...

Hover on the lane of the skyway...

It's almost twenty years, till now at present that I've raised pigeons atop the roof of our house.

The first stanza of the song by Elton John is dedicated to them, my priceless pet!

folk rock!, pop hits! , classical...and country music ! Feb 22, 2006 8:13 pm
Mood: amused, 267 Views

What about it?

Country Music? Well, Its always associated with long hair and cowboy outfit...With the sounds of the fiddle and sometimes banjo and the crying sound of the slide guitar. If it's a pop hit? Then you always heard it being played on your favorite radio stations on an 8 track Pioneer cassete stereo at a Jeepney ride on your way to school...Folk Rock , Who could ever forgot the famous "Father and Son" by Cat Stevens, whom I read was being barred from entering US soil for being a suspected terrorist...(sounds weird to me)

When I was a teen-ager, hair was that long to make my guitar playing more convincing to my buddies and especially among the bop bop teenage girls...It's also a way to be more appreciative and noticeable to the usual crushes passing by!

At the high school campus when you sit on the corridor's bench to play, can't help to notice schoolmates milling around to hear what's the tune being played. Some of the boys would even butt in to render a song or two at the usual vacant period. Singing along, with some tapping their feet at the beat or tempo.

Now with the MP3's and the Windows Media player, the access to songs are more convenient so one can easily learn to play and be adaptable. Unlike in the 70's where in you have to depend a lot on songbooks, the famous Jingle Chordbook(wonder what happen now to the publication)...even the famous songhits at your favorite magazine stand was a monthly necessity.

Every individual has a song or a music attached to him/her. Be it a theme song or the usual humming song while taking a bath. It always come and go no matter what.

Q: Does music makes the world go round?

A: Absolutely Yes! How about you? What's music to you, then?
