my problem's like this..i have a sweet tooth, heck i can't survive a day without a sugar fix, but every bit of dessert i eat, translates into a zit or a major pimple the next day..even if i only eat one small serving a day.
ive tried steering clear away from them delectable morsels of cocoas, strawberries and sugar..and have nvr felt more deprived and unhappy...so i reckoned life is too short to miss out on life's small treats.
what should i do now? should i find a substitute for choclits and donuts and pastillas? what's a good sub? gimme some shugar lolz just kiddin
In this movie starring Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster, there was a brilliantly executed bankrobbery. But the bottom line was, it was okay to rob that bank's safety dep box of its diamonds, as long as justice will eventually be served on the real culprit--the banker ( played by Christopher Plummer ) who made himself rich at the expense of rich Jewish friends during the Holocaust.
The Holocaust is a singularly impt topic for me, coz I made a paper on it during college, visited the Buchenwald camp in Germany, and the memorial site in Israel. I've actively read books, watched films on the topic..still with disbelief at the atrocity done to millions of people.
A writer once said, "Had those millions refused to meekly be led to the slaughter, they would have had their oppressors greatly outnumbered."
The bank robber ( played by Clive Owen ) said: "An evil deed will eventually be found out. It can be hidden for a while, but the stench will seep out."
But what about his deed? That of robbing the bank and robbing the hostages of their dignity and freedom?
All in all, it's a great film. Captivating from start to finish.
And oh..local robbers used to emulate modus operandi of great robberies shown in movies, and had successfully robbed local banks..so here's wishing local banks will be extra wary of men wearin over-alls.
blogging has some curious and unexpected side-effects for me.
aside from the usual benefits of being able to express what i wish, and to keep in touch with friends...iv come to find that it makes my almost-dead-brain to function again..
im able to recall some info again...whereas b4, i would spend an entire day just trying to remember a relative's name, or something i did just the previous day.
AND, im able to appreciate lots more about life and people...makes me eager to face another day...looking forward to more adventures and lessons along the way.
In ballroom dancing, the secret of a great pair, is a great male partner. He ought to be able to lead the lady, and yet manage to make her shine, at the same time.
This latest Antonio Banderas movie is based on a real Dance Teacher named Pierre Dulane. He brought Dance to public schools in the US, and brought out dignity, respect and order in the campuses.
If you look solely at Banderas as he dances, you'd see one helluva dancer..impeccable lines, clean moves, no excess movements anywhere..and without his skills, the dance number wouldn't look as incredible.
Confusednose says: Great dancers ( and cooks ) make for excellent moves in beyd.
