Assume The Position Mar 27, 2007 5:35 am

While my girlfriends and I were in Singapore, we joined a city tour, where we were brought to the area where the Indians live.

They told us that it's customary for a new Indian bride to have tattoo on her arms and back of her hands. The tattoo lasts two weeks. The tattoo is there to remind everybody that the bride would only be busy in making a baby for two weeks, while her mother-in-law will do all the housework for her. Afterwards, she will assume her household duties.

Cool custom, don't ya think?

What I Put In My Mouth Mar 27, 2007 4:49 am

I'm extra careful with what I put in my mouth these past few weeks.

Instead of cakes, ice cream and pastries, I eat prunes or raisins. Instead of fried eggs and fried stuff, I eat oatmeal. I limit my meat-intake to just the size of a small matchbox.

Instead of choclits, I eat fresh fruits.

I cut down on rice, eating just five spoonfuls then eat more veggies.

I don't eat snacks anymore. When I crave sweets, I suck on a spoonful of honey.

And drink tons of water, but never cold water. Prefer non-fat milk and freshly-squeezed juice, instead of soda.

Exercising every other day.

I feel lighter and more agile. Have more energy and stamina.

And as a result, I'm able to eat yummy, non-fattening food at a more energetic and extended pace, if you catch my drift.

Here's to our health!!

In Her Defense Mar 16, 2007 8:21 am

Our neighborhood has some squatters. The squatters produced some juvenile drug-addicts who terrorize our area regularly, nightly, and early morn. They don't seem to sleep. They seem to take turns roaming around.

My mom used to be the Barangay Captain. *** ( definition stated below ) She couldn't stand the fact that our incumbent Barangay officials aren't doin anything to solve the growing problem of drug abuse, vandalism, public nuisance, gambling, drinking, loitering beyond the curfew for minors. And they particularly liked to pee at our wall, and stay right in front of our house. All of those are supposed to be under Barangay jurisdiction and sanction.

An action-person that she is, she began to talk with the youngsters. They didn't pay her any heed. Relentless that she is, she kept on going down the stairs, and going out the house, just to tell the boys to behave. She is practically paralyzed by arthritis and has a heart problem, but she is one determined lady.

The boys continued to make our wall their personal comfort room. And my mom continued to tell them to stop.

Ofcourse, when a young man is under the influence of drugs, he won't always be his usual self. So, there came a time when the boys started to be really disrespectful towards my mom. She could hardly believe it, since she is so used to commanding respect. And she began to shake from anger. And I had to come into the picture.

Now that my mom's wellbeing and my family's honor is at stake, I couldn't let those young men to continue disrespecting us, since our family is one of the pioneers in said place. So I filed a formal complaint against those men. If the ruckus continues, and heaven forbid that she'd suffer a heart attack, then I won't be able to accept a mere apology from those guys.

And so now, here I am, facing a series of hearings, against eleven drug addicts. Ofcourse I'd also be the enemy of their families and friends. Even the police discouraged me from taking action because I'm just a woman and virtually alone.

Ain't life grand?

***The Philippines is subdivided into small "Barangays." Those are composed of a specific area block and manageable number of population. They are headed by a "Barangay Captain" and seven "Kagawads." They are all elected officials. The law empowers the Barangay Captain, as the Little Mayor of his/her area. He/she answers to the real Mayor.

Word For The Day --- BOOGER Mar 16, 2007 7:34 am

BOOGER - that which is produced by the nose.

Kinds of Boogers:

1. HARD TO GET --- it's not easy to connect with the finger.

2. EASY TO GET --- one try and it's there.

3. CANNOT BE REACHED --- too far, needs cotton-bud assistance.

4. HIDE AND SEEK --- u already had it, but it got away.

5. ATTENTION-SEEKER --- peeking out, wants to be discovered by the population at large.

6. FREE FOR ALL --- ur blowing and blowing ur nose to take it out, u thought it's still inside, but it's already on ur face.

Motto for the week: There is no booger that can resist a determined fingernail.

Beautiful motto...signifies perseverance, creativity and hope!

Just chillin here. Have a great weekend everybody!!!

Changes Mar 16, 2007 7:10 am

"The only constant thing in life is Change."

I'm a creature of habit, and as much as possible, I only keep good habits. If I'm used to a certain place, I go there all the time. When I watch a movie in the same movie house, you'd find me sitting on the same seat, unless it's been previously taken. If I'm down, you'd find me eating and hanging out at the same resto, same seat in the house. Eating the same food, drinking the same beverage, unless I'm feeling adventurous and curious. You get the picture.

There might be a lot of changes in my life, and in the lives of people I love, friends I hold dear.

And it's making me real sad.

I might be moving so many miles away..away from the people I searched long and hard for...and some of them would be moving too.

I didn't know that it was a possiblity, that they and I would eventually have different locations..that they and I won't be able to see each other regularly...the people who have become very important in preserving what's left of my sanity.

Knowing that God is there to make sure that we'd all be okay eventually is the only thing that's holding me together now.

But how I wish that my true friends, whom I consider family, don't have to live in another country.

Hope we'd have regular reunions anywhere in the world.

Kids Mar 10, 2007 8:29 am

If you learn that your prospective partner cannot bear kids, would you still venture into a relationship with the person?

How important are kids in a relationship?
Yes, would still continue with the relationship, regardless.
Nope, I would seek a partner who can have kids.
It depends on how special the person is to me.
We can always adopt kids if the relationship works.

Younger Or Older? Mar 5, 2007 11:59 pm

Which do you prefer? Younger or Older Partner?

As for me, age doesn't really matter, as long as the person is responsible, no longer immature, and doesn't require a tutorial.
Older, but not too old.
Older
Younger, but not too young.
Younger
Doesn't matter as long as we click.

Three Cool Guys In FFF Mar 4, 2007 2:26 am

I've met quite a number of FFF chatters in person, and I've observed three guys who are exceptionally devoted to their respective families.

They found friends here, yes, but they always make it a point to be decent and extra careful not to appear as if they are flirting with anyone.

Two of them are part of the PLF group --- Lemonrock a.k.a. Sweet, and Toshima.

And the other one is someone I've met a couple of years ago. At first I thought he was single. He's got one of the wittiest sense of humor I've seen in this site. And he can really make me laugh out loud with his nawty jokes. If you watch him in the chatrooms, he may appear too nawty, but the fact of the matter is, he is one of the most decent men I've ever met. He looks out for me, keeps confidential conversations private, very sweet and caring, and is a good caretaker of my bag. lolz

His handle is rasecigop, and I fondly call him Papi. He is one of the true friends I found in this site. Check out his profile, if you want to have a good scare, a good laugh, or both. lolz

Luv yah, Papi!

To the three of you...

MAY YOUR TRIBE INCREASE!!!

Physical Qualities Of A Good Partner ( Female ) Mar 4, 2007 1:02 am
1810 Views
Practise all the pertinent personal hygiene and details stated in Physical Qualities Of A Good Partner ( Male ) and add in the following details:

a. Always wear a sweet smile.

b. Laugh a lot.

Always be cheerful. A sweet-tempered, gentle and fun person is always nice to have around. When he tells you problems in his office, use humor wisely to diffuse his stress and tension, but never make fun of him.

c. Unless you feel like you need to be hospitalized, always accommodate his intimate advances.

Lolzzz..sounds controversial, right? But hey, s*x is man's number one need, whether everyone agrees or not. To fill that need, every time he wants you bad, and in the most fulfilling way possible, is one of the best ways to ensure a terrific relationship. Ofcourse, if you and your partner are always giggling together and you are able to communicate about things without having any major issues, then it's almost a guarantee that you'd want each other badly, all the time.

d. Stay fit and attractive.

No matter how busy you get, make time to look attractive...for your own self-esteem..and for him. You don't have to be super glamorous all the time. Being simple but chic could do the work. You'd both stay in the winning end of the whole thing.

e. Stay neat with your stuff.

Men like orderliness. Keep your things simple, orderly, and neat.

f. Don't frown.

A major beauty products company used to say that the world's most beautiful women seldom frown, if at all. And you are one of the world's most beautiful women. If you don't believe that, start believing it now. Unless you're a guy.

Hmmmm...just liked to write a few things regarding this subject matter...care to put in your opinions? Life is an endless learning experience, and it's wonderful to discover some new ways to keep a relationship work. We shall talk about the other non-physical qualities later. Thanks for always being here. Hope all is well at your end.
