memory is vivid although many years had past
since i held you tight, hoping it would last

golfers' weather forecast is always good
rain, hail, or shine, or even without food
at the break of dawn all itchin to tee off
front nine or back, doesn't matter, it's still golf
as for another boring sport
yes, fishing is a sport
it's not always what you catch
or the big one that snapped
it's the time spent thinking, wondering
preparing for the big bite you've been waiting
you relax, you unwind, you console yourself
half soaked in water or fishin off the bay
men have simple pleasures
no mall hopping for a pair of shoes
we can play 2 rounds of golf or even more
but no way we'll walk an 8th of asia mall

dog leg, par 5, to the left it bends
i asked my flight partner married 25 years
what's the secret, your wife's happy and sheds no tears
ahhh, he sighs
the secret is a romantic dinner once a week
with a nice bottle of wine and a meaningful chat
therefore, my wife and i reached a compromise
she goes on tuesdays and mine are friday nights

we get bogged down with people's issues
we head to our shell with box of tissues
only because we are good natured
easily affected by their torture
at times we think we are alone
the place we live in is not a home
the feeling of sinking in a bottomless pit
start flappin those wings, give yourself a lift
it's hard to find the person you can trust
to open up your heart and say what you must
but that's no reason to stop

truly amazing how some people could tell
when one's feeling rotten, spending time in hell
perhaps some are more transparent than others
more real and not fair dinkum posers
words of kindness, words of love
much appreciated, with or without hugs
brightens up your day, puts a smile on your face
worries of yesterday banishes without a trace
i say...not quite, not quite
trauma will leave some fright
scarred for the rest of natural life
healed in time, tho with a fight
