X’MAS LITTLE THOUGHFULS’ Dec 20, 2006 3:37 pm Mood: thankful, 4379 Views It's not always that gifts should be expensive, or big. While we are taking our time to get the perfect gift for our family and best friends, there are also those people who make our day pleasant- these are the helpful officemates who make sure our load is manageable, the security guards at the lobby who carry the extra bag to the desk, the assistants who make sure all the paper work is clean and orderly, and that coffee "barista" who always creates the perfect cup of coffee. These people may not be the biggest names on our Christmas list but they are, after all, part of our lives. So here are few options to show them they are appreciated. POLOSHIRT When you can't really think of a more creative gift, you can always get away with a nice poloshirt instead of the usual T-shirt. Besides, a T-shirt can not make a difference as much as a poloshirt does. AROMATIC CANDLE Girls, and even guys love candles. If you have an officemate who's always stressed at work, an aromatic candle is the way to go- he or she can use it while taking a bath or catching up on some reading. MAKE-UP When you can get away giving a T-shirt to a guy when you can't think of something, you can also get away giving a girl a fruity lip gloss, a palette of eye shadow, or a sweet smelling puffy powder. USB DRIVE It may be really small but to your officemate who's constantly transferring files and exchanging emails, this makes a great, thoughtful gift. COFFEE MUGS and CONTAINERS Coffee containers and mugs are acceptable if they are unique. Choose the ones with cool designs or better yet, give them portable coffee containers they can bring to work. DIARY Writing materials are favorites among those who love keeping track of their work accomplishment, schedules, and thoughts. Pair a lovely diary with a stylish pen to complete the present into one thoughtful package. These are some of my suggestions. Perhaps, you can share some of yours hereinto.. "She must be washable, but not made of plastic, have more than 200 moving parts which all must be replaceable and she must function on all kinds of food, she must be able to embrace several kids at the same time, give a hug that can heal anything from a bruised knee to a broken heart and she must do all this with only two hands". The angel was impressed. "Just two hands....impossible!" And this is the standard model?! "Too much work for one day....wait until tomorrow and then complete her". "I will not", said the Lord. "I am so close to complete this creation, which will be the favourite of my heart". "She cures herself when sick and she can work 18 hours a day". The angel came nearer and touched the woman. "But you have made her so soft, Lord". "She is soft", said the Lord, "But I have also made her strong. You can’t imagine what she can endure and overcome." "Can she think?" the angel asked.
