Da*n it! Moro** don't learn until they die!

Things and people we could take for granted:

How great to have someone watching over us, to earn money, to be educated, to have life experiences count as education if you absorb its lessons and act to improve on them, to have the use of electric, have family members who like to love, spoil and help each other, a house to stay in, to be able to walk outside and have clean running water.

How about you?

What's your typical day? Nov 2, 2009 1:06 pm

At the moment, I'm home feeling cold and sleepy already since 7 pm. I shouldn't feel so sleepy when my co-worker had persuaded me a few hours ago while at work to drink more caffeine than I normally take because she takes a hot drink, mostly coffee with every puff of cigarette.

Goes to show caffeine doesn't really work. It only leaves me feeling tired and end up with a lingering headache and migraine. I'm almost allergic to many things including perfume and certain annoying people sometimes.

A typical day is waking up at 6:30 am. At the earliest, I wake up at 5:30 am to get mentally ready to get up for work. At the latest, I wake up @ 10:00 am.

I’ll keep turning the alarm off to snooze in my mobile, so I could sleep some more. It takes me at least half an hour or less when I'm feeling more awake and energetic to finally get up. I get ready by wearing a uniform and put on my light coat and zip up sweater for work (for extra insulation) and put some crap like a book in my handbag because I feel naked without a handbag or something to carry with me on my shoulder. Not to forget my essentials, my purse, keys and cell phone.

I head to work, usually by foot for 5-30 minutes depending on where I’m going for the day. If I'm lucky, someone will offer a lift.

When I’m working around young looking adults with different kinds of disabilities (mainly with mental and behavioural problems), I’m always reminded of how privileged we really are as able bodied individuals.

I'd like to learn more sign language.

I’ve often worked with the elderly, initially as a volunteer to pass my silver Duke of Edinburgh award. I don’t normally like working for nothing, unless I can spare time for it.

I’d work experience as a social worker at school, I’ve considered it as one of the few careers options I’ll try later after trying other jobs first. I've had 2 jobs at one point while in uni.

I’d like to follow on my mom’s footsteps, although she finished her studies and passed her degree late as a single mom. I'm signed up for next year for postgrad course.

I don’t think I can stick to one vocation only for the rest of my life. I’ll more likely end up like many who’ll work at any ole job for a while until I find something I’m really passionate about.

When I finish work any time in the afternoon or the evening, depending on my shift; we'd have chat on the phone, I'd rest for a while to chill out on my computer or lie down and read and obviously eat and drink during my lunch break and dinner time, hang out with siblings and get them to do their homework and do our house chores. Then hon will come around to give me a ride and head out later at night to get refreshed and socialize with friends. Head back home again late to get energized with sleep and repeat the cycle the next day.

To break it up, I book days off work and I’d get sick occasionally and plan trips for longer holidays.

Life in Death Oct 31, 2009 4:54 am

The longer I live, the more often we have to experience and see the death of others and have our own near death experiences. Please excuse the morbid topic, I felt like sharing. Paying my respect for the dead this Halloween.

Death is inevitable, comes to visit us anyone from any background sooner or later. Therefore, no matter how much material or worldly possessions we have, these will all come to an end.

Like love, death crosses any divides. Whether the living or dead was or is a Roman Catholic or Protestant, each one pays their respect for the dead and set their foot inside any religious institution. Gathering the living in one place.

An occasion to set aside any personal differences between the living and the dead.

Strengthens the bond of friendship and family values, coming together to support each other in our time of need.
I found myself relating to my friend's very similar circumstances of our grandparent’s dying moments within the past 5 years.

Haunts the living. Makes the living reassess their lives. There’s always room for improvement. To live life now, live healthier and not worry too much.

An opportunity to forgive trespasses and shortcomings for the last time; no matter how controlling, demanding, possessive and nasty the person lived in the past.

Buries and glosses over the bad memories and reliving the good memories.
Focusing on the dead person’s redeeming qualities and personal history.

Makes the living realise how important this person was to their lives. No one else can really fill the gap the person had left behind and the roles s/he had as a mother, father, brother or otherwise.

Makes one aware of social decorum and rituals to follow. What’s appropriate to wear and what’s inappropriate to say.

Death creates a sombre mood, yet the living doesn’t forget to laugh to defuse tension in the air, to smile and greet each other with kindness and compassion.

Comforting the bereaved requires sympathy, empathy, a lot of patience, attention and genuine care.

The bereaved don’t fully heal, their sorrow and grief will linger on for many coming years.

While the dead person no longer has to fill hunger, feel pain and quench their thirst, the living continues to suffer in pain or otherwise, continuing to consume snacky foods and hot drinks to stay alive, well and refreshed.

Need to sort out the family will. Is it more costly to die than to live?

Opens a new door of possibilities for those who are left behind.

“Life lives, life dies. Life laughs, life cries. Life gives up and life tries. But life looks different through everyone's eyes.”

Net perve Oct 31, 2009 3:49 am

The story of this hairy Neanderthal man in the picture goes back to the gaming forum. He lent a picture to a fellow gamer who wanted to use a picture to go with his topic of 'Lust- The 7 Deadly Sins'.

Many months later the picture was brought to life again used by someone else. They had a field day poking fun adding their own captions through another website. The caption version in this pic is a combined effort from both my bf and I.

His pic entitled internet pervert has been spreading like wildfire in the net. At times, it has become a joke along with another joke.

The hairy man says he's ok with the captions. I reckon he'd have to have a thick hard skin not to be offended by some of the captions, which went along with his picture. Some were down right insulting.

The lesson is be careful of the pictures you post of yourself, in case someone decides to deface your photo on the internet.
At worst, s/he could use your picture to pretend to be you!

On this note, have a peaceful Halloween weekend. Write to you later afterwards. Take care.

Thanks for continuing to drop in quietly in this corner, leaving your silent yet visible footsteps behind you. I find your touch and go approach have good reasons behind it and it's good to know you take precautions.

I can hardly not notice you when you're a regular commentator, a regular silent visitor or a friend happily coming back to say hi=.

Special thanks to the girl friends here who regularly visit and to the guys , , , who have always been fun to converse with about anything, guys who are respectable (take note ladies) and have been the most prominent loyal supporters...the knights of this corner. You're like my guy friends in real life.

It's heart-warming and at the same time my eyes are dazzled by your large eye watching over me like angels

Stay classy Filipino and foreign friends and fiends.

Waiting for Tagalog post Oct 25, 2009 6:16 am

..to come through. I've posted it 3 times at least already. Quite frustrating and off putting.

Here are more funnies, da' British style.

A Scottish farmer was in his field digging up his tatties (a Scots word for potatoes).

An American farmer looked over the fence and said"In Texas we grow potatoes 5 times larger than that!"

The Scotsman replied "Ah but we just grow them for our own mouths."

The Pope and the Queen of England are on the same stage in front of a huge crowd. Her Majesty and His Holiness, however, have seen it all before.

To make it a little more interesting, the Queen says to the Pope, "Did you know that with just one little wave of my hand I can make every English person in the crowd go wild?" He doubts it, so she shows him.

Sure enough, the royal-gloved wave elicits rapture and cheering from every English person in the crowd. Gradually, the cheering subsides.

The Pope, not wanting to be outdone by someone wearing a frock and hat worse than his, considers what he could do. "Your Majesty, that was impressive.

But did you know that with just one little wave of MY hand, I can make every Irish person in the crowd go crazy with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display like that of your subjects, but will go deep into their hearts, and they will forever speak of this day and rejoice."

The Queen seriously doubts this, and says so. "One little wave of your hand and all Irish people will rejoice forever? Show me."

So, the Pope slapped her.

An elderly man was walking through the French countryside admiring the beautiful spring day, when over a hedgerow he spotted a young couple making love in a field.

Getting over his initial shock he said to himself, "Ah, young love... ze spring time, ze air, ze flowers...C'est magnifique!" and continued to watch, remembering good times.

Suddenly he drew in a gasp and said, "Mais... Sacre bleu! Ze woman - she is dead!" and he hurried along as fast as he could to the town to tell Jean, the police chief.

He came, out of breath, to the police station and shouted, "Jean, Jean, zere is zis man, zis woman... nekkid in farmer Gaston's field making love."

The police chief smiled and said; "Come, come, Henri you are not so old; remember ze young love, ze spring time, ze air, ze flowers? Ah, l'amour! Zis is okay."

"Mais non! You do not understand; ze woman, she is dead!"

Hearing this, Jean leapt up from his seat, rushed out of the station, jumped on his bike, pedalled down to the field, confirmed Henri's story, and pedalled all the way back non-stop to call the doctor.

"Pierre, Pierre... this is Jean, I was in Gaston's field; zere is a young couple naked 'aving seks."

To which Pierre replied, "Jean, I am a man of science. You must remember, it is spring, ze air, ze flowers, Ah, l'amour! Zis is very natural."

Jean, still out of breath, grasped in reply, "NON, you do not understand; ze woman, she is dead!"

Hearing this, Pierre exclaimed, "Mon dieu!" grabbed his black medicine bag; stuffed in his thermometer, stethoscope, and other tools; jumped in the car; and drove like a madman down to Gaston's field.

After carefully examining the participants he drove calmly back to Henri and Jean, who were waiting at the station. He got there, went inside, smiled patiently, and said, "Ah, mes amis, do not worry.

Ze woman, she is not dead; she is British."

A good friend is a friend whom you'll easily notice how good a friend s/he is through everything that they do. You’ll miss them anytime they aren’t around.

I'm lucky enough to have found them and at times they found me.

Happy budday soon to another Golden lady...About the same age as my mom.

I pray, wish and hope for good health, love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, faith, good self-esteem and self-control for you. Thanks from the bottom of our hearts.

You’re a loveable Christian mother. You’ve always been very supportive of the young members and generally throughout the site. Thanks for always listening, for being faithful, loyal, reliable, giving sensible advice and understanding what it is like to be young. I reckon you’ve much wisdom to share about growing up in a foreign country.

Please keep the young person with a golden heart in you intact. This is a greeting to demonstrate how much you’re appreciated here.

Thanks for your long patience to read and understand every bit of ramble and for doing a good job squinting at this page. *

For you
I’d like to see you for real right beside me
and hold your hands steadily my mother friend
to show you another world where
your dreams come alive
and you’ll hop along the love mobile
we will spin round and round in circles
wearing yellow roses
pinned to our blouses, taking us
back to your childhood days
You’ll meet a boy
who will one day become
Your fine hunky man
whom you’ve been waiting for
He’ll be your good steed for the day
and he’ll ride with you on
the back of his stallion
to the meadows,
he’ll ask for your hands
and he’ll softly put his arms
around your waist
to lay you kindly down
on the meadows,
you’ll turn and he’ll plant kisses
on your cheeks, your neck,
your brow bone, your shoulders,
your arms, your chests,
your tumpkin, your lower back, your thighs,
and he’ll hold your feet and legs up high
he’ll unbutton your bell bottom jeans,
and bring you closer
for a firm embrace,
and make you smile from ear to ear
like a Cheshire
cat craving for milk, my dear.
And he’ll be grinning back mischievously,
To illustrate to you the lustful
things that love means,
One of them is to touch you there
between your soft pale thighs
make you smile, among the grass
feel your feminine sweetness
and sniff your long raven hair.
Quick, it’s twelve, time to leave!
Unless you want to remain there.
