i have this fancy dream seeing you walking down the aisle
holding a bouquet spread of lady's breath and white dahlias
smug in perfect white lace bordered pearls in trellis work
one day it would finally be done to what it could be worth
i knew it wouldn't be long dreams won't be dreams really
if not for what is being as consciously in your thoughts
so i give you my bid of congratulations you finally made it
after that grand day you will have made yourself as happy
it's just that i won't be around witnessing your big grin
but like you said in spirit i will be there with you watching
after the ceremony pretend am blowing you a loving kiss
a hug thrown to the wind from me to you my special friend.

You and I are connected
in a way that goes beyond romance,
beyond friendship,
beyond what we've ever had before.
It has defied time, distance,
and changes in ourselves
and in our lives.
It has defied every explanation.
Except one:
Pure and simply, we're soul mates.
I can't explain, I just feel it.
It's there in the way my spirits lift
whenever we talk.
The sound of your voice brings me home,
in a way I can't explain.
It's in the delight I feel, when we laugh
at exactly the same things.

The night was dark and windy cold
Autumn leaves began to fly
A caterpillar striped with black bade
"Time to say good-bye."
"I'll stick and grip to a stem.
This wrap is getting old.
I'll change it for a coated skin
Of brown but alas no tinge of gold."
The north wind sang a lullaby
So snug and safe he lay
Then the rains came pouring by
His dry skin dropped away.
Now a burly insect sat
Made his wide spread to fly
He soared the air on midnight wings
A black swallowtail butterfly!

Each day that I get to peep into your life
I have the best thoughts believing it's me
That whatever you may do and say in time
They could just be parts of what used to be
I feel happy with the good memories you share
Yours reflecting what's good but they're not mine
Sad I couldn't share the laughter, that am bothered
Because there is the truth there is nothing spoken
As much as the good memories can become so open
If I stop for awhile I may not feel rightly sure
If I pain will you know I am hurt but I guess not
Oftener it doesn't matter nor without basis at all
If it inflicts worry you are first to forego what is
If it gets me stirred it is always the least intended

I've gone this far it's not where I belong
I know we started this same path
I stumbled got left behind in wrath
I remembered you said we'd do this

But it was you first who pulled away
Leaving me alone like this is in dismay
I still have to thank you despite that
Because I learned to be alone am glad
Now I can stand on my own without you
