Is crab mentality the distinct character of Filipinos?

My dad is from the Middle East while my mom is from the Philippines. I am a Canadian by birth.
Crab mentality actually happens in reality - at the job site, in school, even in the blogsphere and online community.
According to Wikipedia, it is a way of thinking best described by the phrase "If I can't have it, neither can you." The metaphor refers to a pot of crabs in which one tries to escape over the side, but is relentlessly pulled down by the others in the pot.
Either you deny it or not, you possess this attitude. To win, you strive with your best until you realize that your best is not enough so you resort to the last option. The dark evil ones: backstabbing, lies, gossip, sarcasm, malice, illusion, among others. You destroy whatever good you have gathered through the way just for the prize on top. The flowery – friendly competition has turned into greedy self – centering quests.
Why would someone not let other people succeed? Instead of pulling other people, why not do something that will make them successful as well? And maybe, just maybe the Philippines will be recognized like its neighboring Asian countries.

Aside from the mails, text messages and chat, tumatawag
pa rin ako sa mahal ko except kapag busy siya sa kanyang
trabaho o kaya ay natutulog sa gabi. I am behind by 12
hours. She`s sleeping while I am wide awake. She goes
to work and I go home. Hindi hadlang ang libu-libong
milya na pagitan sa aming dalawa gayundin ang time zone. Pinagbubuklod kami ng aming pag-ibig sa isa`t isa. I am
so serious and head over heels in love with my girl.

Sa pagdaraan ng mga araw, mas lalo siyang napapamahal sa akin. Mas nag-iibayo ang nadarama ko para sa paralumang pinakamumuting ko sa lahat. Walang sinuman at anuman ang puwedeng humadlang sa aming pag-iibigan. Ni pamilya, mga kaibigan, mga nagmamarunong, mga estranghero hindi kayang tibagin kung anong meron kami sa ngayon. She`s the only woman I wanna spend the rest of my life with.

Issa and I celebrated our third monthsary
talking and giggling most of the time.
Hindi nakakasawang pakinggan ang kanyang
ginintuang tinig. Kay aya at kay rikit ng
kanyang mukha, kahali-halina ang alindog
na taglay niya na sa tuwina`y dumadarang
sa aking pagka-lalaki. I always ask
myself and the Lord up above, `What did

Only my girlfriend is the one I trust in this site, siempre magkakilala na kami kahit hindi pa nagkikita ng personal. Sweet lang talaga ako pero misunderstood ng karamihan. Hindi rin totoo na kapag ang babae nag-try i-seduce ako eh maaakit na. No way it won't happen. Love na love ko ang mahal ko at di na ako matutukso pa sa iba, she is my everything, my world, my soul mate.

computer_ace and issa70. They met here on the primer's blog until they fell in love. The romance continued, some tried to isolate the two yet the love they have for each other is strong enough that no one and nobody can separate them anymore. As Ace said, "Mawala na ang lahat huwag lang ang kanyang paralumang pinakamamahal." They will be celebrating their third monthsary on June 4. Dapat ngang kainggitan ang pagmamahalang ipinakikipaglaban sa mundong mapanira, mapanghusga, mapagmarunong.
