By mere definition, a political system in which government power and responsibility is divided between a federal legislature and a number of state or provincial legislatures is called Federalism.

Canada has this form of government and has jurisdiction over the entire nation. Each provincial government has rule over particular portions of the population. Unification was desired, particularly by commercial interests as a means of facilitating economic growth, territorial expansion, and military defence.

Canada’s first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald, was not enthusiastic about federalism and would have preferred a unitary state in which provinces get their authority from the central government and are subordinate. The central or national government have access to a predominant share of revenue from taxation, and that it is entitled to make conditional grants to provincial governments even in relation to matters not strictly within its dominion. Macdonald was also a lawyer and a businessman. He passed away in 1891.

As per the Constitution Acts of 1867 and 1982, Canada is a constitutional monarchy, wherein the role of the reigning sovereign is both legal and practical, but not political, that its executive authority is vested formally in the Queen.

Every act of government is carried out in the name of the Crown, but the power for those acts flows from the Canadian people. The Crown is thus the foundation of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of my government.

The most visible and recognized part of the Canadian Constitution, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, guarantees the rights of individuals by enshrining those rights, and certain limits on them, in the highest law of the land. We have protections namely freedom of religion, of thought, of expression, of the press and of peaceful assembly; the right to participate in political activities and the right to a democratic government; the freedom to move around, seek work and live within Canada, and to leave Canada. We also have equality, language and legal rights such as the right to life, liberty and security.

Our current provinces (10 of them) and three territories which make up as the world's second-largest country by area are:

Alberta | British Columbia | Manitoba | New Brunswick | Newfoundland and Labrador | NORTHWEST TERRITORIES | Nova Scotia | NUNAVUT | Ontario | Prince Edward Island | Québec | Saskatchewan | YUKON. Capitalized name is for territory.

My place of birth which is Toronto is the biggest city in Canada with 6,055,724 pople and with 1,025.4 inh./km² population density. This is the latest available data as of January 26th, 2016. Population density is measured in inhabitants per kilometre squared.

Toronto Mayor is John Tory while Premier of Ontario is Kathleen Wynne. Justin Trudeau is the newest Canadian Prime Minister.
Some of the countries under Federalism are as follows:
Austria, India and Germany - federal parliamentary republic; Brazil, Mexico and USA - federal presidential republic; Malaysia - federal constitutional monarchy; Switzerland - federal republic.

Sources of unwanted trash are the pedestrians who deliberately drop mess in the streets and gutters, motorists who throw garbage out of moving vehicles, truck haulers who litters public streets by unsecured loads, households which are non-secure trashcans invaded by scavengers or wind, commercial owners who fail to maintain dumpsters, human elements who litter at the parks or mall, entertainment events with large amounts of waste which are hard to control or collect, illegal litter whether by the public or the commercial community, habitual or intentional littering, construction sites with large amounts of ignored garbage.

Our environmentalists say, trash thrown everywhere harm our storm water systems, oceans, rivers and streams along with our wildlife.

SOLUTIONS:

Recycle bottles, paper, can, boxes and plastics.
Buy containers that are returnable such as glass.
Buy items that use little or no packaging. Select packaging that is biodegradable if possible.
Ask your school, business or church to start a litter pick-up group.
Purchase items that come in or are made from recycled containers.
Write to your local newspaper or school principal and talk about litter concerns.
Place ample trash containers in conspicuous places.
Report construction sites, businesses or homeowners who have litter problems.
Hold free seminars at your community center to help the public understand how litter is harming our environment.
Start a website in your area and advertise your website in the local paper or radio.
Remember, "ang basurang itinapon mo ay babalik din sa iyo." Yes, it boomerangs.

It is a fact that depression ranges in seriousness from mild, temporary episodes of sadness to extreme, persistent depression. Clinical depression is the more severe form of depression, also known as major depression or major depressive disorder. A person having a major depressive episode usually exhibits a very low mood, which pervades all aspects of life, and an inability to experience pleasure in activities that were formerly enjoyed. In severe cases, depressed people may have symptoms of psychosis which include delusions and hallucination. An individual has poor concentration and memory (especially in those with melancholic or psychotic features), withdrawal from social situations and activities, etchetera. Insomnia is common among the depressed. In the typical pattern, a person wakes very early and cannot get back to sleep.Hypersomnia, or oversleeping, can also happen. He or she is always tired or exhausted, feeling annoyed and wants to be left alone.
Other signs of extreme depressions are:
Feeling sad, empty or tearful
Significant weight loss when not dieting, weight gain, or decrease or increase in appetite
Insomnia or increased desire to sleep
Either restlessness or slowed behaviour that can be observed by others
Fatigue or loss of energy
Feelings of worthlessness or excessive or inappropriate guilt
Significantly reduced interest or feeling no pleasure in all or most activities
Trouble making decisions, or trouble thinking or concentrating
Recurrent thoughts to hurt or attempt to terminate own life.

If someone or am I drowning and scream SOS, will YOU be there?

While no is truly hypoallergenic as all dogs shed some allergens, there are some breeds that are known to be better for allergy-sufferer. Here is a list of some of the top breeds that are known to be less triggering for people with allergies or asthma: Poodle, Shih Tzu (also called the “Chinese Lion Dog” or the “Chrysanthemum Dog”), Bichon Frisé (a popular French canine meaning “Curly Lap Dog”), Yorkshire Terrier, Maltese, Lagotto Romagnolo from the Romanga region of Italy, Kerry Blue Terrier, Chinese Crested which comes in two different types – Hairless and Powderpuff, Miniature Schnauzer, Bedlington Terrier ( they look more like a lamb than a at first glance due to extra wooly coat), ), Portuguese Water Dog, Coton de Tulear (a Bichon type toy breed that originated in Tulear, Madagascar), Bouvier des Flandres also known as the the Belgian Cattle Dog, the Koehond or “cow dog, the Toucheur de Boeuf and the “dirty beard,” Airedale Terrier, Havanese, Peruvian Inca Orchid, Bergamasco, Lowchen, Puli (a corded Hungarian breed, Dandie Dinmont Terrier, Polish Lowland Sheepdog, Wire Fox Terrier, Irish Water Spaniel, Basenji, Labradoodle, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, Wirehaired Vizsla, Xoloitzcuintli (pronounced “show-low-eats-queen-tlee”), also known as the Tepeizeuintli, the Bald Dog, the Mexican Hairless or simply the Xolo (“show-low”), Yorkshire Terrier and more.
The term hypoallergenic breed is commonly used to refer to a breed (or crossbreed) that is more compatible with allergic people, that are less likely to trigger allergic reactions in people who are sensitized to the pet species. I thought of this topic after I watched the February 15, 2016 broadcast of TV Patrol (through TFC) where Noli de Castro and Ted Failon both unaware that there actually in existence of a hypoallergenic dog. Mine actually is a pure white Bichon Frisé which I bought for $650 from Ottawa.

Salt trucks are out on streets in and around the city as winter weather arrived in the Greater Toronto Area today.Snowplows were rolled out as the first winter storm of the season covered the Toronto area in a blanket of snow four hours ago. Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the Greater Toronto Area this morning, warning that storms were expected tonight. The statement said a low pressure system from Texas is heading toward the Great Lakes, bringing snow and ice to southern Ontario.

Snow is expected to develop this evening and quickly becomes heavy, accumulating some five to 10 centimetres before changing to ice pellets after midnight.

Other areas, such as Mississauga, Newmarket, Caledon and parts of Brampton experienced freezing rain.

Basically no white Christmas in 2015 but the new year is now filled with snow.

Three categories of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

People who have Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder may feel terrified even when they’re no longer in danger. Its three categories are re-experiencing, avoidance and hyper arousal. The patient will re-experience the original trauma through flashbacks or nightmares. The victims will also avoid places, people and things that remind them of the trauma. These symptoms can also include depression, feeling emotionally numb and losing interest in inclined activities. Hyper arousal is an intense awareness of one's surroundings and sensitivity to any sudden changes. This can be seen in being easily startled, anxious, and having trouble sleeping. Anger can also be a result of PTSD from the experience of being attacked or abused.

I decided to blog about this because my newly adopted is showing signs of PTSD. He is five years old and was given up by a couple because the wife just gave birth a month ago. He has several foster parents before I met him.

According to many, the following are some of the reasons why animals are stressed out: Into military or police service, into dog-fighting or bait practice, living in a puppy mill, with severe physical abuse, being attacked by bigger dogs, living as a stray, brought up to the shelter for adoption.

My buddy goes into panic attack whenever he sees huge canines, fearful with men and frightened with noise even a knock on the door. He is hyper vigilant on walks. He watches everything around with anxiety, scared eyes, avoiding mere contact with strangers. I assure him nobody can harm him so long as we're together so he got to stop being afraid of outside of his comfort zone.

He makes a soft yelp or a weird sound when he sleeps as if someone is trying to hurt him. He has a special "safe place" in my house where my pet can retreat to and relax.
