and you begin to enjoy life..
something happens..
it happens because there has to be some kind of event
that hits you in the face and makes you realize
it's not all gonna come easy..
you have to work at love and dry your tears..
friends will come and go; and guess what?
there will be others..
not every relationship will be enchanting and perfect,
and if it's meant to be,
it will always find a way..

Ever remember watching the movie "Rocky"
and getting inspired when he decided
he wasn't going to be a "bum" anymore?
The famous theme song began to play
and Rocky began to work out harder than ever before.
It just made you want to go out
and do something great–something impossible.

and rise up out of poverty,

The Manny Pacquiao story is the true Rocky story,
but to an even greater extreme.
He rose up out of horrible poverty

Pacquiao believes in God and obviously understands
the Bible verse that states:
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Pacquiao has slain every giant in his path.
Time after time he was underestimated.
Pundits looked at many of his opponents
and said there was no way he could win.
"This one's too fast." "This one's too strong."
"This one's too big." "This one's too smart."
Pacquiao didn't mind. He beat them anyway.

They are waiting for that day
When Santa will bring them toys,
Guessing what might they get
Those fortunate little girls and boys.
Some others look forward to less
There is no Santa Claus for them,
Toys are the least on their minds
Their broken lives need to mend.
Beautiful clothes they always wear
Name brand only will they know,
Never to worry if they don't fit
While others go naked out in the cold.
People shopping for Christmas gifts
Many family and friends for whom to buy,
Never thinking of a different fate
Not everyone has a job on which to rely.
Christmas lights strung all over the house
Drivers passing by, they are so bright,
The only light is a flickering candle
Hiding their faces while parents fight.
Tucked into bed after end of day
Pillows soft and blankets warm,
Kisses on their foreheads, saying good night
All is safe, no fear of any harm.
Bullets flying in many directions
Innocently striking a small down,
Gangs roaming the streets at will
While the poor little body waits to be found.
Put an angel on top of the tree
Watch the lights flicker and blink,
Feel the warmth from the fireplace close
Hot chocolate is prepared to drink.
Homeless person on the street corner
Holding cup out to passerby's,
Maybe a nickel or a dime will drop in
Shivering in the cold so teary-eyed.
These pondering thoughts come to me
As this Christmas season draws near,
Times have changed for so many folks
Things aren't like they were last year.
The one thing that is constant each year
Is that Christmas is about a holy birth,
The coming of the Christ for all who know
That God loves His all over this earth.
No matter the scene, be good or bad
This event we celebrate the 25th of December,
Times have changed for many like no other
And this will be a Christmas to remember!

What were you doing when you were 16?
Me, like many 16-year-olds I know,
I was busy falling in love.
I was ordinary.
There's a 16-year-old who,
unlike us, is into bigger things.
He is WESLEY SO, Filipino chess grandmaster (GM),
humble, extraordinary.
Wesley So's astounding run in the 2009 World Chess Cup
came to an end after the Filipino grandmaster
lost his playoff match against
Russian GM Vladimir Malakhov
in the fourth round of the competition
in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia.
So (ELO 2640), who twice held
Malakhov (ELO 2706) to a draw,
yielded to the Russian GM
in three straight tie-break matches of rapid chess.
The Bacoor-based chess player yielded
to the 22nd-seeded Russian in 55 moves
using the black pieces during
their first-tie break match.
This was followed by another win
by Malakhov after 61 moves
in the second match.
After losing to GM Vladimir Malakhov
in the tiebreaker of Round 4,
Wesley will bring back home a feat
that belongs only to the great - that is,
putting the Philippines
in the global chess map once again.
Prior to facing Malakhov,
So shocked Chess Cup defending champion
super GM Gata Kamsky of the US in Round 3.
He also pulled the rug from under
World No. 12 GM Vassily Ivanchuk of Ukraine in Round 2.
So, who is already assured of $30,000 (P1.41 million)
prize money for reaching Round 4,
also defeated GM Gadir Guseinov of Azerbaijan in Round 1.
Reaching round-of-16 in WCC is tantamount
to a superhuman feat for a 16-year old lad
who trains and studies chess all by himself.
No coach, no trainer, no second.
That's pure human talent,
a real gift not every human being
is blessed to receive.
All around the world, chess fans and lovers
are taking notice of this young man.

being here with me, and it felt so right.
I spent all day, just trying to sleep,
because being with You, I wanted to keep!

It gets harder and harder to say goodbye,
