When I was in Boot camp, this is how we use to start our prayers. God, Country, Corp!!! Some say in that order and others maybe not exactly that order. I feel that it is important to keep God first in your life, in your family, and most of all in your heart. I wrote this blog because of a discussion I was having in a chat room a few days ago. I didn't say it then but I want to make a statement about belief in God and what is the importance of that. Some of the debators did not believe in the Holy Bible or it what it teaches us about God. To them I say this. If I am wrong about everything in the book, and every thing that I believe to be facts. Then the Holy Bible should still make me a better person. I should love those that I call my enimies, I should treat everyone the way I myself would want to be treated, and I should do go to everything and person. I only need to be right about one thing. If you don't believe in God and/or the Holy Bible, then you have to be right about everything, about God, about Jesus, and the Blessed Virgin, and about the Holy Spirit. If you are wrong about one thing, then you two will be ruined. If I am wrong about everything, I will live my life and keep God first and the life that I believe is to come will be rewarded greatly. That one thing alone is my hope for tomorrow. If you are right about everything but wrong about life after death, then you will spend eternity regretting that, litterally. Thanks for reading and take care and oh yes, God bless you all, your friend, Biggs
Now, to try and not miss any names, I will not just go and name all the people that I have met that I consider to be true friends, but I will go through the conversation that I had with one of my real life friends, over this site, friends that I feel I have made on it, and why I blog(even though I get so few responses).
First of all, what is a friend? Is there any part of your definnition of friend, or the friends that you have that means they must be someone with whom you need to make physical contact with daily or live very close to? If that were so then you could never have friends that are a long distance away. I think a friend is someone that you share common interest with, who you can talk to about most of your problems and who also tells you about theirs, and most of the time someone you will be able to relate too.
But regardless of contact, the way you met, or how far away you may be, friends can be real on the net, some times even more true friends than the ones you have from like highschool or something like that. I am closer to some of my on line friends than what we refer to as real life friends, and I think that all the people I make friends with are real even if they are on the net and fff. I think I have true friends, and to them I say, "thank you for being a friend". To all those who I wasn't handsome enough to be your friend, or piony enough or some other race, or if you just didn't like me for some reason or another, well you can deal with that on your own. Take care, thanks for reading, and God bless you all, your friend, Biggs
An old but goodie that I like to listen to. Hope you enjoy the lyrics;

So I finally made around the world, literally. I haven't been to every country, but I have visited all around the globe and every countinent with the exception of africa. I know for a fact that this is true. Every where that I have been and all the people that I know all prefer lighter skin to darker skin. Maybe this goes back to the begins of their countries and the oppression of the nationalities by lighter complexed people, but why would that be such a big deal today, if that were true. I know that it may have been true then and it maybe, was driven into the minds of otherrs then but who really drives these stereotypes today. I know that it is particularlly true of fff, because I have friends that are lighter than I and definately not anything other than lighter skin, and they have 10 times more friends than I do here which is why I am sure of the stereotyping. But is it just human nature? Will we ever live in a society where we are not judged by the colour of our skin but rather the content of our charater. Maybe not but I refuse to believe that it is not just human Nature which cause us to do so. Thanks for the time and take care and God bless, your friend, Biggs
So, I was finally done with MCT, and had my 10 days of leave, now I was getting to school and looking to do the best job that I could so that I could go into the fleet. I chose 2800 as a m.o.s because the school was so long and would give me a great opportunity to adjust and then be ready for the fleet. I also chose it because I was sure that I would be able to work on computers and that is something that I really wanted to be involved with. I wasn't told that only the top two in each class, recieve 2811 or 2813 options, but that is another story for another day. I was told that I had arrived just in time to miss the cut date for the opening class and I had to wait 6 months for the next school. So I was waiting and finding a place to be everyday, not to mention trying to adjust to the weather in MCAGCC(Marine Corp Air Ground Combat Center). But this was still just the beginning in the Marine Corp life and I was loving every min. of it. Thanks for reading and Take care and God bless, your friend and brother in the bond, Biggs Semper Fi OOH Rah
I was in First battalion. I arrived on the island on Dec 12th. I was in platoon 1018. I also served almost all the time I was there as a squad leader. But now it was finally time for Graduation. Time to see family and get 10 days of leave before heading off to school. Time to try to stay in shape and regretablly leave Momma and Poppa, and our beloved Paradise Island. We experienced alot in Parris Island, but we grew as Marines from birth till now on this rock also. Now, none of us knew what mct held or the rest of our Marine Future would be like. But at last we had to leave home and conquer the world.
My first day platoon consisted of 112 people. We gained 64 during team week, and 22 during all the other time we were there training. 1018 graduated 54 Marines. The army says they graduate 95 %. The air Force 90 %. The Navy right around 80 %. We graduated 27.2 % of the ones that were in boot camp with us! OOH RAHH!!!! That is Marine Corps life in a nutshell. Now you know why we say, "The Few, The Proud, The Marines" To make this just a little bit shorter, I will never forget my graduation. Nor will I ever stop loving my drill instructors, my fellow 1018'ers(my big family) and Paradise Island. I could take a lot more time in breaking Graduation down to you but, that twould ruin my book when it gets published but for now, thanks for reading and take care and God bless, and to all my fellow Jar heads out there, Semper Fi, OOH RAHH and Always Faithfull, your friend and your Marine, Biggs
If you know the humor invovled in the title of this blog, then you more than likely either are or have spent some time in the United States Marine Corps. I am refering of course to Parris Island. Sometimes affectonately called Paradise Island. If i had known how great life on the rock was, or appreciated it at the time when I was there, then I would really be able to write all the emotions on this blog right here. Unfortuantely, I can't write nor express all of the greatness that we as devil dogs feel about this great place on our planet but you just have to ask your Marine and get his own personal view from first hand.
Parris Island, Mcrd, The longest running Marine Corp training facility and also the place of my Marine Corps birth. If I could turn back the hands of time, one of the few places I would love to visit is my basic experience. That is one reason why I call it Paradise Island!!! thanks for sharing and more stories coming. Take care and God bless, your friend, Biggs
I learned just about everything good and bad in the United states Marine Corp. Yes My parents taught and trained me very well. They taught me the basics that I feel everyone needs to have in order to be successful, the Marines just drilled it in and enforced even some things that they didn't fully cover or plug as my life proggresses. Everyday I see people who either shun the military or hate everything that the military stands for. This is so sad because none of the freedoms that any of us enjoy today would be nearly possible if it had not been for some of the great and ultimate sacrifice of our elite members. I know that there are several good jobs that don't include the military but it is also one of the most honarable professions that can be optained in this life. When asking questions, people may say to you before they ask their question, I am not trying to attack you personally, or insult you personally, or personal in some way or another. Also people when they are about to say something harsh to you will say don't take this personal. Where did this all come from? There is almost nothing that you can do that is not in some way or another personal. You personal have to say, don't take it personal before you act as if its not personal. It is about time that we started making things personal and having personal responsibility for our statements and actions. Yes this is a personal blog. I personally survived Marine Corps boot camp. I personally served 8 years in the great institution of the world, known as the United States Marine Corp. And yes, I personally thank you all for your time in reading this blog and hope you personally respond. Take care and God bless each of you personally, your friend, Biggs

This is one of the things that I love most about the Marine Corps. I use to love to run and love to go out of the group and chat a motivating didee. This is one that just happens to come to mind;
Momma and poppa were laying in bed Momma rolled over and this is what she said AHHHhHH, give me some, PT good for you good for me
Ha, ha, ha, I could go on and on but I am not sure if fff, will allow most of the ones I know. So maybe more next time. Thanks for reading and take care and God bless, your friend, Biggs
