Do you feel the pain behind the saddest music?

Randy VanWarmer who was born on March 30, 1955 reached the peak of his short lived career with a lovely ballad he wrote in 1979, "Just When I Needed You Most." It reached No. 8 on the UK Singles Chart in September 1979 after peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart earlier that year. He was inspired to write "Just When I Needed You Most" by a devastating breakup with a girlfriend, he wrote the song six months after. VanWarmer attributed his single's success to empathy for its heartbreak scenario: "It's happened to everyone. That emotion is universal...I always hoped the record wasn't wallowing in self-pity..."
Randy VanWarmer died of Leukemia on January 12, 2004 at the age of 48.

JUST WHEN I NEEDED YOU MOST

You packed in the morning, I stared out the window
And I struggled for something to say
You left in the rain without closing the door
I didn't stand in your way.

But I miss you more than I missed you before
And now where I'll find comfort, God knows
'Cause you left me just when I needed you most
Left me just when I needed you most.

Now most every morning, I stare out the window
And I think about where you might be
I've written you letters that I'd like to send
If you would just send one to me.

'Cause I need you more than I needed before
And now where I'll find comfort, God knows
'Cause you left me just when I needed you most
Left me just when I needed you most.

You packed in the morning, I stared out the window
And I struggled for something to say
You left in the rain without closing the door
I didn't stand in your way.

Now I love you more than I loved you before
And now where I'll find comfort, God knows
'Cause you left me just when I needed you most
Oh yeah, you left me just when I needed you most
You left me just when I needed you most.

Once in a while, someone comes along to put you on top of the world.

    Quoting  :

This was popularized locally by Superstar Nora Aunor in the 80s. Very sad song indeed.
