We Catholics Christians have lots of commemorations and festivities regarding our faith starting from Ash Wednesday till Easter Sunday. In this modern day era, only the oldies of the believers rekindled and practice the faith about the abstinence and rituals. The youth on the other hand are more liberal and free flowing with regards to sacrifices and prayers. Unmindful of the usual traditions, they are now appeased by being spectators but of times heed to the Old believers just to please and not so to offend them. For me, I'm still a part of the old ways, comes Maundy Thursday. My annual penitence is to visit fourteen churches within the metropolis, as to complete the stations of the "Via Cruses". I've been doing this for about a long time now, since my days in elementary grades together with my Dad and siblings. One thing I'm sure of is that it always granted my prayers, be of what it is that I've asked for. My thanks to the Almighty God for everything he has provided me, the graces and blessings to note. I've learned that the sun shines for the good and the bad alike, believers and non- believers, the sinner or saints. The heritage lives on me and the family circle! pic** Sunrise above Stonehenge-Ian Waldie (reuters) |
