 IF anything, I won't HURT myself, knowing that "he" is no longer there, because the truth is, I could be hurting myself more by remembering him than how he actually left my world..

 I have seen someone close to me almost destroyed by a heartbreak. She went to depression and became alcoholic. She cried most of the time and said she wouldn't trust a person anymore. It took awhile before she finally realized that "she could find another love but not another of herself."

I think I know what you mean...I applied to my past marriage and it worked...one time my eldest reminded, "did you know last week so and so date was your wedding anniversary? and I said " ay, uu nga ´no? " not really present in my mind

That`s hard.. some people can`t just cope up, needing counselling coz if not will lead to depression and that`s destructive...hope your close friend is better now take care and thanks for sharing
