tradionally they use marsala, you can substiture it with tia maria, or kahlua,i just brush the lady finger with a small amount of the wine,i hold a bit with the liquor. i also add a bit of almond flvorng. with children around you, u can use a bit of perry.i leave it for about 8 hours before i served it...resting it, the flavors will blend together to give you a much fuller taste. served it with strawberries or chocolate coated raisins...ayan na ... yummy

Didn't use to like tiramisu coz of the alcohol in it. I don't enjoy food as much with it until I tried a discounted tiramisu a fortnight ago from the supermarket counter. This time, it was light and the alcohol was hardly noticeable. I might still be converted.

within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.

Tiramisu here in McAllen, TX is alcohol free, and very delish, but huh! about 2000 calories per small slice..

Just call me ELZ

OH MY GOD ^^* you made me crazy.saliva runs from my lips. hahaha i really really love bread. but i should reduce it. i should keep off foods such as sugar, greasy food, egg, shrimp ....etc. ㅜㅜ
because docor said to me." do not eat them " hahaha i have tolerated them during a month. i have been tolerating during two months. and i should go to the hospital.and i should be gotten the blood test. but i can't stand this anymore after seeing the tiramisu. i will run to the bakery tomorrow morning. <------- this is a joke. it's hard for me to keep away from delicious foods. tiramisu looks like a delicious food. i may have stretched my arm toward the monitor to eat it. please .... with coffee ..... ^^* please ......
hello Tarzan
yes, better follow your doc`s advise though small amount will do and since I`m not coffee drinker (though lots of coffee in tiramisu), I take with tea...sorry in putting you to temptation anyways, Take care!

Zen, I put just a drop of liquor , you can do your own variations according to your taste, instead of coffee, more cacao will do, even sugar free

Elz, this one I put only 50% mascarpone and 50% quark? (not sure if same in english but similar to cottage cheese with less fat percentage) as I can`t eat creamy stuff, I already anticipated I`ll eat the rest of it

Cuz you know the other day we were in French resto. My friend ordered creme Brulee`. I thought something new but from taste and the basic ingredient is same as our own fil. leche flan guess the difference is Creme brulee is oven baked whereas "leche flan" is steamed...try it cuz, easy to prepare also
