The Perfect Life

When I was young, I dreamnt of becoming a journalist, have family with 3 (which I blessedly have), a doctor husband or an engineer, a beautiful home with a garden, servants and chauffers who waits on our every whim, travel vacations, Sunday family day, in short, the perfect life. So much easier to dream a dream than having it.

I thought education, conforming to the rules of society, following the counsel of the elders in my family, I'll end up one step short of my dreams, because I took up Bus. Adm instead of Journalism. The quest for proverbial truth through broadcast media, the public needs to know thing - became sour. Truth won't feed the hungry, so I shifted gears. I left my leftist ideals and turned right, I embraced the subtle life of a student and live in peace till I graduated. I married, have but can't help remembering follies of my youth (my dreams included) which shaped half of me now. The other half came from my married life.

Middle aged, with failed relationship(s), I lost some zest for living and loving, nevertheless, I'm still hopeful, positive that it will still happen, my dreams of a perfect life. That, nothing and nobody can take away from me, limitless, tax free, sugar free.. anytime.

Theta sis. my dream is so simple finish schooling, get a satisfying job as an accountant (which I had before marriage) eventually raise a happy family and take care of my own kids.

Oh well, family is something I value a lot so in short, I gave up everything and followed my xhub, not knowing what awaits me here in Germany...I guess we can`t have everything we wanted as not all is beneficial...but the last one, taking care of my own kids is the most fulfilling job for me, as not every mother has given this oppurtunity..

I love your perfect dream sis Theta. You've at least your wonderful kids and you've a good career.

I toyed with signing up to Journalism as well and applied for speech therapy, teaching, childcare and social work.

within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.

Charlie,

should be thankful my friend, portion of your dreams you realized before the sunset of your life. One day, you'll never know you'll hit the lotto and make it fully come true. Do you bet? Cali's are lottomaniac people.

I remember my 90yr old charge who make it a point to buy lotto ticket everyday (when I was still working in Sunset Blvd.), so i asked him, what will he do if he win the lotto? He said he'll just take a few millions off his winning and the remaining staggered to be deposit in his account for 10yrs. I said why not take all of it so that he can enjoy it not waiting year after year. He said something like he'll spent every bit of it in a cruise every year, take some people with him and look forward to next years with another set of people. Well, caprice or a noble intention, until the very end, he died having a lotto ticket on his night gown.

Your kiddos will soon be adult right before your eyes and you can be the rancher that you want to be. There's time left, there's hope left.

Gracey my dear,

We have something to be thankful that a part of our dreams came true and that is auspiciously given the chance to be a mother and wife. Though we may fail in marriage, careers any other things, but once we become a mother we can't undo being one. Its constant till our last breath. For that alone, something worthy to live by..

Thanks sis. Ingatz.

Tajane,

Survivors to the very end 'te. I shall go on chasing till my very last, if its my final act, so be it. I prepared myself for bites and scratches, there will be somewhere along the way. I'm still up for it sis, can say its my elixir of life - waiting for the fruition of my dreams.

As for you, I won't argue the point of you aiming for a home run, but make it home runs 'te. There's joy in winning and even more joy in winnings.

Plenty o' time. Thanks for sharing. Ingatz dear lady

Thanks sis Janey. Yes, if only for my kids, I can say my life's worth it. But there's more to life di ba? Constant struggles, a big game you have to play everyday, even another morning is a challenge - but I'm all for it, not as zesty and as feisty as I used to be, but wiser and learned maybe, which is nothing less as the perfect weapons.

You're still young my friend, there's so much ahead of you. Take it from your big sis Theta 3 things to remember - keep an open mind, understanding heart and simply ENJOY! Ingatz..

My dear Racqz,

In real life and in fairy tales, its a common story. Princesses turned to paupers, even the high and mighty bowed down to poverty. Ironically, happened to me not as crude for I was not a princess but essentially the same, the privileged life became unfavored.

I took the humbling experience as a guide further down in life. Ascertained of what I still want, I'm playing it close to my heart, my eyes open, my heart stronger.

We're still on it sis. We both have good chances, out of love, out of life. Enjoy while taking the ride. But do ingatz.

Thank you Joseph for the well wish. Saddened by the mentioned of your sister's death and your parents separation, returning from the ashes of a dark past (like a phoenix), you've realized some of your dreams now I suppose. I cant help but admire you. In all the eventuality that happened to you, one thing I'm certain about, you're looking forward to the full realization of your dreams and with a good outlook and the right attitude, what can go wrong? Way to go, ingatz...

Dreams come true Theta just hang in there. It's the measuring stick of your life.

But words from an elder, when you reach the point that you are content and happy with your life, you've fulfilled your dreams; a man in your life, a mansion, cars and servants will not mean a thing.

But of course, don't enter a monastery

I'm a senior citizen . Don't expect me to remember anything

Ka Bert,

I am still hanging but my strength will soon left me, then I'll just do the waiting lying down

I know that being happy and content will eradicate all needs for material things, they'll just be icing on the cake if there will be. But being happy and content entails a lovelife and thats what I'm hoping for, a long lasting one

Monastery??? I don't think so. My calling is in the outside world Thanks Old, naglayas ka na naman di ka nagsama

I dreamt to be a lawyer, but we didn't have enough resources at that time, so my eldest sister sent me to UST to take up Tourism, and after 4 years, I took another 4 year course (Nursing), followed my my Masters...Hah! all those combined, I would have been a doctor already by now....lolz... But, there's something about simple life that truly makes me happy...Everyone has an important role here on earth, and we just have to give our best and be thankful for all the blessings!

Just call me ELZ

Hi ELZ,

But you're quite content and happy now with your career, otherwise you've change ground sometime ago. Its really time not wasted right? All those years of studying makes you the perfect one for your job. Simple life it is without so much pressure, look at you! Manage to look young and sexy without the hassle of thinking endlessly had you become a lawyer.

As I commented on Raqcuel's post, great pics you have in Vegas. All your beautiful smiles can tell you all had a good time. Indeed a treat for all of you!! Welcome back.

You just have to take it easy typing, anyway, we're not going anywhere. Though we missed you here, rest your hands and sooner you'll be back renewed. Ingatz...
