Human Creations that I Love

While it necessary to collect "things" in order for me to enjoy the creations of other humans, such as stories and movies, it is not the "things" that I love.

As an example, if I like a book, I am not referring to the physical copy. I am referring to the story contained within, which is not tangible. Also, if I like a movie, I am not referring to the DVD itself. This is a distinction that may be hard to believe, since I have around 2,000 books and hundreds of DVD movies.

My greatest interests in the realm of human creation (not discovery) are:

1. Science Fiction
2. Japanese Music
3. Korean Movies

Some of my favorite authors of science (or speculative) fiction are Philip K. Dick, Philip Jose Farmer, William Tenn, Cyril M. Kornbluth, Roger Zelazny, Daniel Galouye, Greg Egan, Robert Heinlein, Robert Forward, John E. Stith, Timothy Zahn, Larry Niven, Keith Laumer, R.A. Laffery, A.E. van Vogt, Alfred Bester, Robert Sheckley, Arthur C. Clarke, Gordon Eklund, Michael G. Coney, Fred Hoyle, Jack Vance, Clifford Simak, Wil McCarthy, Isaac Asimov, Vernor Vinge, and H.P. Lovecraft.

Some of my favorite Korean movies are:

A Dirty Carnival, A Bittersweet Life, Memories of Murder, The Housemaid, A Good Lawyer's Wife, Attack the Gas Station, Give Me Water, Barking Dogs Never Bite and most of Kim Ki-Duk's and Hong Sang-Soo's movies.

I won't even get into mentioning Japanese music. It is a lot.

I was introduced to science fiction at age 5. I have read more than 300 science fiction stories. It is an "extreme" interest of mine. I grew up around lots of books.

I discovered Korean movies at age 28. I have watched more than 200 of them in the past 6 years. I love them.

How many women do you think I've dated? Practically zero. I don't belong here at all, since I'm totally useless in a relationship capacity, as I have no experience.

So why am I here? Why do I have this blog? Why do I advertise my existence to other women, yet do nothing about it? I have not even looked at one profile at this site.

The problem is that I am surrounded by the "things" that I love - books, movies, music. I always have something to do; boredom is practically nonexistent.

I'm here because I'm still a human and desire to socialize. I'd love to have a woman that shared my interests. That's unlikely, though, because I can't even find a male that shares my interests. Lol. I do have friends, but no one that I can really discuss my greatest interests with. This leaves me feeling lonely, somewhat empty. As if something is missing.

Wow, that many books you've read. Amazing. Only have one or couple of japanese tape my friend gave. The korean movies that caught my eye since 2yrs ago is "Jumong", "Sad movies","Terms of Endearment" w/ Song Il Gook. The rest are musical comedies. I really like the Korean actors as a whole when it's funny their too funny and the dramas they put their whole effort into it.

Yes, we are all human. Searching for that perfect one to make us complete. True love comes with great pain. And anyone of us run as fast as we can whenever there is pain. Being lonely with all these collection can make you happy and productive.

Happy New Year and be happy...

The Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland could probably do something about my quarks. Of course, I'd have to give up my protons and neutrons. That would leave my electrons feeling very lonely!

"True love comes with great pain."

I have recently theorized that it is impossible to receive pleasure for free. It must always be balanced by pain. As an example, it is pleasurable to eat chocolate, but one must pay for it with a larger stomach or possible tooth decay.

Reading is essential. I know lots of people that don't read anything. They're fun to be around, but they're like children. Children that inhabit adult bodies.

You can't have it all. By focusing on knowledge, my social skills atrophy. Likewise, those that focus on socializing exhibit atrophied intellectual skills.

I could never go out and pick up a woman. Firstly, because I don't know how. Secondly, because I don't care. Having "fun" with a woman is incredibly boring (I've tried it). I'd rather discuss my theories and philosophies.

I say do whatever makes one happy. Enough said. Life is too short to be sad and lonely. Being productive is a must...

I've a school friend who is similar to yourself who is inexperienced with dating women. He's a certified computer geek and nerd. Excuse my labelling.
He wouldn't know either how to approach women and if he did he would be stuck on what to talk about because his life revolves around technology and gaming. If he dated a woman, it would probably help if she could show some interest in what he enjoys. He doesn't really like to socialize either with anyone outside his social circle. Sometimes friends and I would've to persuade him to spend his money to go anywhere.

within each one of us, and let it begin with me (and each one of us)..one breath at a time.

I movies. I studied mainly European movies.
I've accessed Korean movies about 3 years ago. I've only seen a few and love them like The Good, the Bad, the Weird, A Bittersweet Life and I'm a Cyborg, that's ok. It's becoming quite trendy and the fanbase for anything Korean are growing. I met the director Park Chan-wook in a film festival in 2007.

I would like to meet Hong Sang-Soo myself. His interpretations of human relationships fascinate me.

What you believe and what I have done are two different things.

I think I have been quite productive then. Since reading makes me happy and I have read hundreds of books, I guess I can't ask for anything more. People like myself living thousands of years (or even hundreds of years) did not enjoy the luxuries I take for granted. It was expensive to get books before the printing press; they were luxury items, like fancy sports cars.
