Health... Ok, been here in the hospital for ages. What keeps running thru my mind is "health is wealth". Watching my mom night and day here at the hospital. My sis and i interchanging on the watch mode. And those machine going on and on for alerts. What and how can anyone go thru all those poking around for veins, countless tries. IVs and more IV's,sugar checks, injections. Medicines for all sorts of how and what it's for. Being cautious of our health and what genes were prone to have later down the line. Heart attacks, kidneys, diabetes, and on and on. Germs, bacteria, infections, etc. I have to commend all the nurses and doctors. It's a very tough job. Always dealing with illness and the outcome. Only for the brave and few. Blood and needles and operation would have been running out of there in no time. But, they're there always so compassionate and will tell you good or bad the conditions. Again, the irony is there are a lot who abuse their bodies smoking and drinking. They live to be 100's. And some overly occupied with good health pop out. Balance and mderations in what we eat, sleep, and over all emotion on handling, and lastly exercise. Pray to God!!!  Happy weekend everyone and God loves us all... Very ironic indeed, Tess that there are those who abuse their bodies and get to live to a ripe old age. And there are those who follow all the healthy living tips who are suddenly hit by stroke or heart attack or even suffer lingering illnesses. But who says life is fair? All we can do is play the cards we are dealt to the best of our ability and just thank the Lord for every day that we get to live and enjoy. I'm a senior citizen . Don't expect me to remember anything

'te Tess, That's the irony of being mortal, no matter how much we take good care of the outer shell but deep inside's a mechanism only God knows how to operate. True that sometimes doctors can heal, but only to a certain point. Always the limitations set aside by the maker and also the taker. So, enjoy life while we can..

When people speak of QUALITY LIFE, there are always misconceptions. First, it doesn't really mean only EATING healthy foods, exercises, and avoidance of stress. Secondly, just because one is handicapped/disabled, doesn't mean s/he cannot outlive others or will be miserable. To me, quality of life is NOT to deprive one's self of what s/he wants which s/he can absolutely get...Very simple! And by the way, those who strictly EAT HEALTHY are often UNHAPPY, because they overindulge in SELF DEPRIVATION and are always watchful about what they eat...Tsk!tsk!tsk!. ..I'd rather have a shorter life lived happily and with contentment..That's just me, and I don't know about you, guys!Just call me ELZ

Tess, brace yourself...If your Mom will live longer by staying in the hospital most of the time, and suffer from poking, being drugged, and what and what not. If I were her children, and I'm old enough to go, I'd rather sign the DNR...But then, again...THat's just me..No offense meant. I hope your Mom will live the rest of her days with quality and dignity...That's all! Just call me ELZ

QTpie, Just imagine ur eating breakfast w/ ur dad and break down in tears coz ur mom was there before. And now no longer there. You never really expect it to come on and prepare. Dan, We can't forget til the time we join them in heaven. Every little things i see now i remember her smiles and sassiness. My mom was a fighter til the end. I never knew how much strenght and courage a person has til u see it in front of you. Never a complain.
