NEURODIVERSITY

Different people, differently wired. I always thought the term started with autism.
NEURODIVERSITY is a bio;logical characteristic of the human species and not a viewpoint or a lifestyle. Autism is just one of the manifestations(gay, lesbian, black, etc).. neurodiversity paradigm, neurodiversity movement are but few of the terms we need to understand to be able to shift from where we are now where we tend to give a label to one and then assume that they are the minority or the "better" specie. Please read up on neurocosmopolitan and the art of autism where much of what i talk about neurodiversity is found.
.i learned so much form my sons. All i can say is that they are different primarily in how they see and understand things. And that we need to give them that empowerment, and to all people labelled like they are through our words, our actions, our thinking.
When we label them, we tend to limit what we know they can do. If one opens their minds and get to know one person with autism, they will find out they are brilliant individuals, even those who cannot speak or express their minds. Just because they are unable to speak like we do, we pass them on as "less". Have you heard of the nine year old boy who has been writing bestselling books.
My older son can listen to any music and play it on any instrument. You may never hear him talk or get into a conversation, but once you start talking about the orchestra you better get ready to be lectured
What my older son lacked in conversation, my younger son got. He can talk and can answer. I once told him I am angry at you and i am not talking anymore. He told me, mom you are autistic.
Always do spread loving kindness to everyone. You never really know what they are going throuhg

Tinkz, I know that mankind are NOT really created equal, because we all unique, and we are all different. There is no such thing as Perfect, No one is 100% Normal, and that's what makes up DIVERSED not only in personality or behavior (Neuro), but also in cultures, and ethnicity.

Just call me ELZ

My brain is wired differently too. I need my happy pills when it gets really bad. I'm always anxious. I'm a worrier. I worry about stupid things and then I worry why I'm worried about stupid things. Some people don't understand why I am like this. Someone told me to just put my big girl knickers on and cop on. I would if I could. But sometimes I don't have the energy. I can't even wash my hair or brush my teeth. Sometimes I'm bouncing off the walls.

As for kids with autism or kids with Down syndrome, they are just normal kids and should be accepted as such and be treated like any other "normal" kids. They don't need any special treatment ( or mistreatment ) they just wanted to be accepted. As for me being a grown up in my own predicament , I just want to be accepted as well for who I am. The problem is some people find it hard to accept / respect other people. It to mention the stigma attached to it. If my family have their say in my life , I would be locked up in a mental institution a long time ago.

Sorry. I'm rambling.

I don't want to explain in detail CC but my brain does not work like that. If it does , why would I torture myself with all the negative thoughts in my head ? Some people needs medicine to balance their system. The body needs help. I did not want to be like this. Nobody wants to be in this situation. I didn't choose to be in this predicament. I would not even wish it to my worst enemy. Like I said , if I could , I would.

the body was made perfect by god. it can regulate itself on its own, that is the beauty of the human body. everything starts with the mind coolaboola.
whatever you think becomes you. now let us start with your belief that you need outside chemicals(medicine) to control your emotions then you will be contrlolled by pharmaceutical companies wanting money from what you think is s problem for you.
it always starts with our emotions, our feelings dictating what we think.

And also, not everybody practise religion. Not everybody believes in the same things / gods. I have no trouble accepting that people have their own belief but if someone tries and shove his / her belief in me there will be problem. And also , if God is all we need and our faith / belief , why do we have doctors ? 🤔🤔

am sorry am not forcing any religion. I am spiritual and it is not a religion
what i am just saying is you have to start with you, yourself, what you believe in. you believe you need a doctor then go ahead and consult one you know you trust and believe in. like a god or religion you have to believe in what they preach to follow their health advice .
i am a doctor btw
