Ondoy, A Nightmare!!!

How pitiful those people who have been victims of the fury of Ondoy, the latest storm that visited our country. Watching the horrors of the floods in Marikina and most of the parts of Rizal, gave me goosebumps. Imagine if that happened to me and my family.

My youngest son underwent such a nightmarish experience even if we are too far away from the most flooded places. Her girlfriend texted him that she was stranded in Zapote so he went there to fetch her. He never expected such a horrible scene. When he got to the place from a long distance walk, coz the place was already not passable to any vehicle, the water was up to his shoulders and mind you, at his age of 17, he is 5`10`` so imagine the people shorter than him wading through the deep water.

One good thing is that people tied a rope from across the street to the other side for them to hold on. My son, holding his cp and umbrella on both hands saw a young girl before him. The girl was nearly drowning when my son saw her, so he threw away his umbrella and caught the girl, who wasn`t holding on to the rope anymore. Then he pulled her to the other side where she was safer.

When my son got home with his girlfriend, I learned that he just did one heroic job.If he weren`t there at that moment, perhaps the girl would have been drowned as everyone was busy saving themselves. I am very happy for what my son did.

This is just one of the not so horrible experiences I have heard but others have the worst nightmare in their lives this weekend.
I have texted friends here in FFF like smiley, who lives in Antipolo and very near Marikina, the most hardly hit, but she`s ok , thank God. I have texted Tyler who lives in Quezon city but has no reply. I hope and pray that he`s safe and the worst news I`ve received is that of Jane (fantasiamore) who really lost everything but her cp and herself. Still thanking God that she is safe now.

I hope that our friends here who are living in the flooded places are all safe now.

Thank God, the nightmare is over but I am sure, it will leave very bad and sad memories to the victims.

My prayers go to the victims and those who lost their lives in this nightmare.

By the way, I am with my group in church asking for donations, repacking food stuff and clothing to be distributed to the flood victims..this is all i can do to share.

God Bless everyone!!

But Lynn, I hope the kids would stay indoors this time. It's quite a serious storm though last night I heard on telly that the wind has slowed down. But still, it's better to be safe, than sorry.
That is very true Cat..i have told my son not to go out in times like this as it is safer in our homes.

One writer tells me that they laugh at the Tsunami in Thailand. Of course peoples experience can vary. After what I have seen I sometimes laugh too, but this is highly improper. I myself might fall victim of disease or the apparent changes in nature, as a rule. I wanted to tell you that I now have great hopes, as I have met a woman that is really something. But I am more worried of losing her friendship than her love, since this can give both of us the opportunity to travel to Asia, and Scandinavia. I am very careful to prepare her for both good and bad things. (I'm a real bummer! )

My recent blog post is somewhat hard, but I will find a more careful expression.
These natural calamities are not things to laugh at coz they really are sometimes disastrous to people`s lives and homes.
I congratulate you for finding your special someone. Wish you both good luck.

You're right about this nightmare ... but there's one good thing that came out of this, & which, no doubt left an indelible mark. It's knowing that you have raised your son well, and that is the most colorful feather added to your cap!

Yes, your son did a very heroic deed. Watching the news yesterday made me cry. It's so hard to go through!!! Because it brought back memories as a kid in manila when the fire started and everyone had to evacuate. Luckily my uncle dump every thing in a suit case, because the following days we were leaving for america. And then to rest in the cemetary as a sanctuary. My mom came home from the US Embassy and was stopped by the police not to go in our place coz already baracaded. All she could say was my kids are there. But, my aunt and uncles took care of us at the time. Which i will never forget.
Yes, i could feel the trauma these folks were feeling. Some never wanted to leave coz their only possession was left and guarding it. As it was on the news stating the fact. But, those are nothing compared to the lives that where at stake. Some how it's like God is giving all of us a wake up call!!! That no material things are worth it except the love for one another and of HIM. That gave us all these temporary happiness.

God bless all of these people surviving Ondoy.
It made me cry also sis and even asked myself, what if it happened to me? Thank God that we were spared from it but my heart goes for the victims..
I was relieved when i saw my son back home with her gf after my fervent prayers to guide them..God bless sis.
