No bandages, antibiotics … no dextrose; Mayor fears most of 2,500 villagers lost KUWAIT CITY: Jose Maria Miniana, the Mayor of Anahawan district, Philippines, says that the majority of the estimated 2,500 residents of the village Saint Bernard Guinsagon have been buried in a huge swathe of mud. Miniana was talking on phone to the Arab Times from Anahawan, after the village of Saint Bernard Guinsagon was flattened by the landslide which struck at 1000 hrs local time. “We fear that about 80 per cent of the people have been trapped and their chances of survival are really slim,” he added. Anahawan, from where the rescue operations were being coordinated, is almost 20 minutes drive from St Bernard Guinsagan, the calamity stricken village on the south of the island Leyte. The following were among those pulled out from the mud and are being treated at Anahawan hospital: Espinosa, Josephine 16 yrs; Bolasco, Arsenio no age; Bolasco, Roland 32; Bonisa, Jeffry 16; Ibanez, Arlene 21; Miravile, Alicia 48; Velasco, Irenea 59; Peligro, Rovelin 18; Bolagsak, Antonio 40; Perante, Maria 72; Magtupa, Analisa 34; Inso, Antonio 8 months; Mabitado, Nena 48; Gagadas, Lucy no age; Libaton, Florencio 39; Dalmoi, Antonio 43; Pia, Cristin Jane 3 yrs; Marqueda, Ureta 36; Cibunga, Rosemarie 6 yrs and Redolosa, Genesis 21.
