A strange news report which has been published by the Al-Qabas daily has reportedly disclosed loopholes in the security system at border checkpoints which may make terrorists feel easy and comfortable.
The daily said a retired Kuwaiti and his son Yousef planned to tour the Gulf by land and gave their passports to the company agent to complete travel procedures at the border immigration post.
However, just prior to the departure the son opted out of the tour and the father continued on his way. However, the daily said the passports of the father and son mistakenly interchanged.
The father continued on his journey. He left Kuwait on his son’s passport, traveled to Saudi Arabia and then to Jordan. None of the immigration authorities discovered the mistake. However, when the father was about to enter Lebanon, an official called out the name of Yousef.
The shocked father said, “Yousef is my son,” and the official asked him why he was traveling on his son’s passport.
One of the sons then reportedly left for Jordan with the father’s passport and with the help of the Kuwaiti mission in Amman and a number of MPs helped to solve the issue.
