Termite queens are fertilized regularly by the same mate for life, unlike bee and ant queens, whose male partners die after the first and only mating.

On the flip side of things, what about the bee and ant partners for the queen...they die after losing their virginity. For some, that would give you enough incentive to remain celebate!

Termite queens are fertilized regularly by the same mate for life >>>>Waittaminute... you mean to say that the termite queens are the only ones being faithful but the male termites can get to be a philanderer? Harumph! Now, the bee and ant queens would have to say "Off with their heads!!!"

I don't think I ever said that, besides...there is only one queen per colony. Both the termite queen and her lucky mate are equally faithful to one another...although the termite queen's mate might die of exhaustion!
