Don't Let Your Nose Bleed..!!! Nose bleed is a slang term used in the Philippines which may connote different meanings but is prevalently used if a Filipino is speaking to a foreigner who speaks English. Although the Filipino may be able to understand what the foreigner says, s/he may somehow have a difficulty to express him/herself in a fluent manner of speaking, thus the "nose bleed" is being used as an expression of difficulty. Since then, people use the word as a joke either to save themselves from the embarrassment or if they feel that a co-Filipino is "showing off" his/her good command of English language. Others take offense and are feeling insulted at times. Please be very cautious when using the term "nose bleed". Here in FFF, there was a time when the management used to BAN Tagalog posts (they denied them). It took several protests from Filipino members before Filipino articles or blogs were allowed. So, however you want to post your thoughts and feelings, GO FOR IT..!!! |

Elz, Frequently, see this in shows and teleseryas. Mentioning "nosebleed" too many times. Because they can't understand. Greatest feelings in the world when two souls profess a love for each other...

Filipinos are afraid to be criticized, so they don't do what they are not comfortable with. Language is a matter of repetition. Listening and repeating what is said makes the language easy to learn. Making mistakes is part of the learning process. Constant practice improves speaking it. Let the nose bleed, soon it will stop as we get accustomed to it. I'm a senior citizen . Don't expect me to remember anything
