Good Grief!

Times and people have really changed. Nowadays, it's a mortal sin to be mortal... and most people will exhaust all the means and do what it takes to stay young or look young. I am so amazed when I watched the Pinoy tv show where women as young as 16 years old agreed to go under the knife to enhance their looks (boob job, nose job, butt job, liposuction, etc.) and also, they go for the glutathianone injections to have a whiter (fairer) skin, while here in the USA, women spend money to get tanned....What's wrong with aging gracefully? Why do men and women defy it? I admire the youthful looks, but at this point in my life, I am not considering any of the above yet ( I don't know if that will change 10 years from now, though ) What I noticed is that it's so easy to gain weight now than when I was in my 20's up to early 40's..Hayz, I work out at least 3 times a week on my days off, and I'm even cutting down on my carbs, but, it's really hard to lose weight... I will double up with the zumba dancing though, and get ready for the summer outings...whatever!

It certainly does get harder to shed those pounds when we age ( and easier to gain them) , blast our slowing metabolism. Ah well, if we really want it we just have to work harder for it na lang..

I've tried Zumba and just not my cup of tea, just like hot yoga and pilates weren't as well. I'm more of a weightlifting exercise type of guy.

On the topic of meal frequency, if you do eat every 2-3 hours make sure they are not calorie-intensive i.e. a full course meal. Another reason people eat that way ( or graze) is because if our body goes into starvation mode any food that we do eat is preferred to be converted into fat. Of course, there are actually times when you want to manipulate the body into thinking just that...but let's not turn this into a 20 page blog eh? Mamaya sabihin ni Elz daldal ko na naman

On thing to note, since it may help Elz anyway....if one does decide to eat more frequently, know that our body is very adept at keeping things in homeostasis so we need to change things once in a while. For example, I normally eat 5-6 times a day, but every 3-4 days I will absolutely eat anything I want at anytime. This is what I found out works for me, it will be different for you. Best advice I give to those I help workout - listen to your body and make adjustments, and keep a journal.

Oh yes, that is recommended to help regulate our blood sugar level and therefore aids our metabolism as well preventing the body to spare the "fat" when sugar (carb) level is low...Fat is the last thing to go from our body, unfortunately..

Thanks for sharing, Enrique ..You know, knowledge is there, it's just a matter of executing what is learned from everyone.. and of course, the determination to JUST DO IT!

All I know is that I've hugged and kissed Elz, and she's a perfect fit in my arms Is she overweight? I don't know and I don't care . I haven't seen her close in a bikini but I'm looking forward to that chance . When? Only God knows
