High Tide, Low Tide

High Tide, Low Tide
by Fr. Gerry Orbos, SVD

"There is something about the changing of the tide.

When the water recedes slowly, there is a certain sadness, as it means saying goodbye. There is a certain helplessness because there is no way we can turn back the tide. There is finality and a surrendering because it means accepting whatever is left behind in the sand.

It is as if time stands still when the tide is gone. There isn't much one can do except to wait, hope, and hold on.

And then, slowly but surely, fresh water comes in. There is freshness. There is joy, there is new life and new beginnings when the tide rushes in again."

When oh when will i ever experience my high tide? all goodbyes ... no new life ... no new beginnings... when can we meet again?????

mahirap magantay kung wala kang inaantay,
huwag mainip kaibigan,
bawa't bukas ay may bagong pag-asa,
bagong buhay, bagong simula...
