Addicted to photography

My blog came to a long pause for the last few months. Well, possibly ran out of things to say or maybe my mind is not functioning properly and not able to produce a smart thing to blog about. Ok I am just making excuses here.... The truth is I was addicted to photography yes you read it right. I've been very interested with photography since I came to Singapore. I used to own a film camera, my first ever was a point and shoot film camera olympus a pawn from a friend, the second one is from an ex Bf {I borrowed it and never return}and my first ever purchased camera a Samsung digital camera. With these cameras I managed to stack a huge collection of photos. I have a couple or more dozens of photo album which i neatly kept in my shelves. Making sure dust and moist wont get into those photos.
Looking at my photos now I realised that the best part of the photo is missing....Its the background. In the past whenever I see a nice place I take photo of myself not the background. Now I realised why did I take a photo of myself in that beautiful place. I could have gone to a studio and get my photo taken by a professional photographer?Imagine standing in a middle of a lovely garden sorounded by beautiful plants and trees and flowers, then you ask the photographer you want a half body picture.DUH how stupid is that?
I have a cousin who loves a halfbody photo of herself. Sometimes, when I take a photo of her I always yell "get off you are blocking the view".
Well, some people have no idea what they are missing.
Around the middle of last year I joined a photography group here in singapore. All members are Filipinos working in different field but they have one thing in common... a passion of photography.
I bought my first DSLR camera in October as a birthday present for myself a Sonny CYber shot DHC-7 then followed by a NIkonD40x with Nikkor 18-55mm kit lens in December as a x mas present for myself ( what an spoilt bitch) I was used of using an automatic camera so when I bought my DSLR I have no idea how complicated it is. But by reading the manual ( I hate reading manuals) and a little practice I begin to understand every part of the camera.
I might say I am addicted to it now. I never go out without my camera, can you imgine how heavy it is. I bring them with me even on a date....yes you read it right. I just found out that it's a very useful companion, when you are run out of story to tell to your date bring out the camera and show your date those picture you took previously. It amazes him...isnt it cool?
My camera my saviour my best friend.
