It is wrong to think that love comes from long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and unless that affinity is created in a moment, it will not be created for years or even generations.

I believe love is a life long process it doesn't just happen over nite... Like anything else love takes time and it takes time to know the other person. In order to have a stable/strong relationship it must start from the foundation.... So, the answer to your question is, no its not wrong to think love comes from a long companionship... just giving my 2 cents...lol
