A View on Buddhism Conquer the angry man by love. Conquer the ill-natured man by goodness. Conquer the miser with generosity. Conquer the liar with truth. The Dhammapada The greatest achievement is selflessness. The greatest worth is self-mastery. The greatest quality is seeking to serve others. The greatest precept is continual awareness. The greatest medicine is the emptiness of everything. The greatest action is not conforming with the worlds ways. The greatest magic is transmuting the passions. The greatest generosity is non-attachment. The greatest goodness is a peaceful mind. The greatest patience is humility. The greatest effort is not concerned with results. The greatest meditation is a mind that lets go. The greatest wisdom is seeing through appearances. Atisha |

I like the Buddhist way ... I can imagine how gentle and simple the buddhists live.
| ||
|
The lessons are full of wisdom, some maybe hard to do, but then anything easy is not worth it!
| ||
|
It is very much like Christianity ...
| ||
|
The Buddha, like Jesus Christ led by example and endured hardships.
| ||
|
It is very much in tune with balance and harmony ... it's the way to treat the world ... it's the way to live.

To understand all this would require an enlightened teacher.

May you continue to enlighten people and may the Teacher's wisdom pass on to more people.

"Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future: it transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural & spiritual, and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity"

"If you live the sacred and despise the ordinary, you are still bobbing in the ocean of delusion." Lin-Chi.

"Aware of the suffering caused by the destruction of life, I vow to cultivate compassion and learn ways to protect lives of people, animals, plants, and minerals. I am determined not to kill, not to let others kill, and not to condone any killing in the world, in my thinking, and in my way of life.” Ven. Thich Nhat Hanh.

One fundamental belief of Buddhism is often referred to as reincarnation -- the concept that people are reborn after dying. In fact, most individuals go through many cycles of birth, living, death and rebirth.
| ||
|
A practicing Buddhist differentiates between the concepts of rebirth and reincarnation.
| ||
|
In reincarnation, the individual may recur repeatedly. In rebirth, in a person does not necessarily return to Earth as the same entity ever again.

He compares it to a leaf growing on a tree. When the withering leave falls off, a new leaf will eventually replace it. It is similar to the old leaf, but it is not identical to the original leaf.
