Funny English

Good afternoon folks. Today is still part of St. Patrick's weekend, bank/public holiday Monday, so taking it easy with the younger siblings as they're off school. Tis good to rest my cold.

Funny no matter how much we think we know something and strive to improve, there's always something new to learn whether it be another language and how the locals pronounce it and words that are completely alien or foreign from what was previously heard to goodness knows what else. New stuff to learn from the old peeps and young ones alike. Hence, nobody is perfect, only perceive themselves to be.

Deadpan kinda joke.

Once upon a time in the kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for seven days.

Eventually, Michael the archangel found him. He inquired of God, "where were you?".

God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds; "look son, look what I'm after making". Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "what is it?" God replied, "it's another planet but I'm after putting LIFE on it. I've named it Earth and there's going to be a balance between everything on it. For example, there's North America and South America. North America is going to be rich and south America is going to be poor, and the narrow bit joining them - that's going to be a hot spot. Now look over here. I've put a continent of whites in the north and another one of blacks in the south. And then the archangel said, "and what's that green dot there?". And God said "ahhh that's the Emerald Isle - that's a very special place. That's going to be the most glorious spot on earth; Beautiful Mountains, lakes, rivers, streams, and an exquisite coast line. These people here are going to be great craic and they're going to be found traveling the world. They'll be playwrights and poets and singers and songwriters. And I'm going to give them this black liquid which they're going to go mad on and for which people will come from the far corners of the earth to imbibe. Michael the Archangel gasped in wonder and admiration but then seeming startled proclaimed: "Hold on a second, what about the BALANCE, you said there was going to be a balance.. God replied wisely. "Wait until you see the neighbours I'm going to give them"

How are you, Janey? The weather in my place is kinda messy. Windy, with snow fall later on in this spring-like temperature at minus 6.

Sniffly and drowsy, but under control thanks to God. Tickly throat is sometimes better than a sore throat, at least I can cough for temporary relief. Haven't been sick since last summer from exhaustion.

Similar weather here Ace. Your place is probably colder than where I am. So wrap up warm where you are. How are you yourself?

It's weird for spring. Thought it was going to snow on St. Paddy's day on Sunday because it snowed on Saturday, but it didn't settle for on the ground. Ended up more like a wet McFlurry on the ground. More sleet and snow forecasted for the week ahead.

hehehe Miss Elz.

I'd appreciate if epep site would allow me to get the image posted. Tried it several times already. Resized it and everything. Going to try it again tonight.

Pretty please FFF, this would be much funnier.

Thanks very much 'te Tess. Hope you're well yourself and happy with your bundle of joy God willing.

Thankfully, haven't been sick as often as when I was with the nursery school kids.

Yan nga eh Tinks. Disappointed about the lack of image. Hopefully Zaki would get what's in the image as she'd be familiar with a few current and old sayings.

Will try again.

Or did you mean, you don't get the joke?

Sis Theta, thanks for the warm greeting.

Well you could take the funny English people instead as a neighbour as they don't always get along with the Irish.

hahaha buti ka pa TaJoolz.

Mine was out of textbook. It was tricky to speak in the real world of fluent and native English speakers. In the beginning my ears had to adjust to pitch and speed of the way they spoke until I eventually got the hang of it after many years. Barely spoke English before besides reading and reciting.

Unlike the Brits when they learn foreign languages they practice aurally for role play.

Och my SPGs are atrocious. Spelling, punctuation and grammar, but what the heck as long as you get the basic gist of what I'm writing.

Don't know about being the pride of this site. I do my own thing. It's history. Please don't stir trouble. We want to get along in harmony. Nobody would kick me out. I haven't done anything to justify being kicked out.

Don't care what anybody else assumes. My conscience is clear. I don't need a picture or show much of my private details to prove I'm legit. Few friends, sister and bf are aware I visit here.

Hope you understand June.

Waiting to see if the image would remain.

Any day off is great. If the public holiday is on a weekend, it spills over to Monday and Tuesday of the same week. More holidays to come.

I was sick also two weeks ago. I wasn't warm enough for the chilly temperature. Please get well soon.

What year were you in Ireland?

Most Irish are great fun too once you get past the crass humour and seemingly serious swearing, which are meant to be funny.
