1) Allow yourself to go through the complete grieving process.
2) Communicate your feelings to friends or other members of the family.
3) Take one day at a time.
4) Be patient and gentle with yourself.
5) It is normal to burst out occasionally in fits of anger. Let it out, but don't harm yourself or anyone else.
6) As time goes by, make some effort to keep in touch socially. Don't isolate yourself.
7) Nurture yourself.
You may want to get a pet.
9) Begin journal and write about your loved one, whether it is your partner or friend.
10) Acknowledge yourself and what you have been through. Evaluate the strength and weaknesses.
11) Don't jump into other relationships prematurely. This may be your way of masking your pain and sorrow. Give yourself space. When you are ready, you'll know.
12) See this experience as an opportunity to open yourself to spiritual life.
13) Leave the door open to love again.

This is very interesting. I'd like to address each of your suggestions, if I may, and my responses may or may not necessarily reflect my own personal experience. Who am I kidding?????

1) The longer the grieving process the higher the chance for attempting suicide.

2) If I told my mother how badly I suck at keeping a woman in my life, she would kill me. Wait. First she would renounce her motherhood. Then she would kill me.

3) One day at a time??????? More like years, baby.....YEARS !!!!!!

4) I can't even sit still sitting in the lounge waiting to have a dental check up.

5) Anger management has never been my strength. But i would NEVER. Let me repeat. I WOULD NEVER HIT A WOMAN. God bless my father who taught me by example.

6)There are some benefits to crawling under a rock in times of crisis- there is an absence of sunlight -therefore you are in complete and utter darkness and away from those things which keep you alive- like the SUN and AIR and nourishment. Why is ISOLATION sometimes a good thing?

IT'S THE NEXT BEST THING TO DEATH.

7.) Here's how I nurture myself.

Listening to music.
Reading a good book.
And licking a PINT OF CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM until I start crying from the tummy ache.

8- The only pet I would want is a chimpanzee. Because I think I would have a lot in common with such a creature. (Sleeping in trees, walks funny, hairy ass, but a great smile!)

9) I wrote a journal once- a ONE WEEK JOURNAL- of the best and most memoral trip I have ever had in my entire life- to DAVAO CITY.

10) I have acknowledged myself many times. For example:
I acknowledge that:
- I am getting old
- I have a fat belly
- My knees and feet are starting to hurt
- I forget things
- I'm tired a lot
- I think constantly about dying

WHO IN THE WORLD WOULD EVER LOVE A GUY LIKE ME????

11) I've given myself lots of space. ABOUT 10,000 FREAKIN MILES OF SPACE. How much more space can I guy have???????

12) I agree. The spiritual life has certainly opened up to the point that I am now RENTING space in the confessional booth which I find myself in EVERY SINGLE WEEK. The Vatican is making a ton of money hearing my sins. I think there's a name plate now above the confessional- IT HAS MY NAME WRITTEN ON IT- "RESERVED".

13)TO LOVE AGAIN????????????? I'd rather face a firing squad with my hands tied and by eyes blindfolded with a BIG RED HEART painted on my chest with the words "AIM HERE".
