NEW LIFE FOR MY SON AND I IN A THREE-BEDROOM ABODE

My seven-year-old son and I moved to a bigger dwelling on May 5 and I hired a two-mover truck to help me out. The black guys charged me $400.00 for only six hours of work instead of the usual $330 contract. My dad and younger sister cleaned up Ali Raza's mess from our former apartment near Dufferin.

My boy surely misses his friend Elvis who also transferred to Lakeshore as well as his grade two teacher and classmates in Fairbank. I understand him completely because when I was in grade 5, I cried like a river when I said goodbye to my favorite teacher and my friends in Caloocan City a month right after Martial Law was declared.

As I registered him yesterday, he was kinda excited because his new place to study has a big oval for track and field. It also has baseball lot, tennis, volleyball and basketball spaces. Obviously, it is a much better environment and a bigger place for my kid.

I filled up several forms as a school requirement, submitted it today as my son attended his first day of grade two in his new institution. He was a little teary-eyed in the morning, obviously missing me already but I assured him that I'm gonna be early later on to pick him up. After I hugged him, the office administrator brought him to his new classroom.

As I went back home in the midst of a mere sunlight, I saw the real beauty of Toronto: the birds were singing, the vehicles were running up like crazy, the people with their canine companion were playing up with them, the fresh zephyr was gently touching my skin, and my mind was in all-out adoration of God's wonderful blessings.

Since Friday eve until last night, I slept soundly and I eat good stuff. My son is a happy kid enjoying play time with his cousin Jennifer Jane after school and the 300 cable channels that we have especially Tree House on Demand by Rogers.

I really can't ask for more. I love you, my son.

One good thing about you is your way of loving your own blood, keep it up.
