My Dear Friend Ric...

4/2/2007 3:19 pm
Hi, Ric, thanks for being a friend wayback in the early part of the 80s the time we met while both of us were leading Christian youth. You were an emblem of a congregational trailblazer, a handsome young man who was once the apple of my eyes in case you didn't know that. It's been 18 long years since the last time we saw each other as my family and I left the Philippines right after Mount Pinatubo exploded and you're on your way to a more pious undertakings.

Now, we had the chance to speak up once more as I heard your voice at the other end of the line an hour ago. You and I were both excited as we talked, you even listened how funny my seven-year-old son is. I'm glad you found a good wife with whom you have two children and I hope they can be my friends too in the process.

There is something I'd like to tell you though that I failed to disclose for fear of losing you as my dear friend. In 1996, I admitted to my family that women turn me on more than a man does. Sooner or later, you'll find out the truth as I gave you my blog, magazine and poetry sites including this one.

I hope you will still accept me as your friend. Thank you, Ric, for the gift of your friendship.
